I've been collecting Disney Snowglobes since 1997. I have over 150 (and running out of room). It started off as just the Mickey ones, then moved on to the Princess (mainly Cinderella) then the "unique" ones.

Does anyone else collect snowglobes?

Kris

I have a few snowglobes in my collection - but not as many as you have :rotfl:

My fave is a small one of Mickey drawing Minnie :goodvibes paid about a pound for it :goodvibes

I collected snowglobes for years, I have at least 100, maybe more. I haven't counted them in such a long time.
It was great when my boys were younger because every year they could go to tDS and get me a snowglobe. They said it made shopping for me so easy.
But I am trying to cut back on my collections and have thought about selling them. However I don't want to sell them for less than I paid, and since the market is down no one is buying.
So I will keep my snowglobes.
I already have them going to my youngest son in my will, but I don't think he really wants them. He jokes all the time about what great baseballs they will make and he wonders if they will bounce if he tosses them out the attic window. OUCH!

That's how my family is! I would get a Disney Snowglobe every Christmas and Birthday.

It just amazes me how much they have changed. Before it was just a average size globe with a little "decoration" on the outside of the globe. Now it seems like it's this HUGE display on the outside, and they are going to call it a snowglobe by putting a little globe in the middle.

Which is part of the reason why I'm running out of room!

Kris :)

Those babies are addicting! I too have over 150 globes. I always leaned towards Mickey and "the whole gang" type ones. Then Princess ones were just so pretty, I narrowed it to Mickey, Snow White, Tink. And now Ariel for my daughter.
It's time to stop, as I have run out of room and my husband drew the line at our Bedroom door  I have Big figs in there :rotfl2:

I wish I knew how to post photos but here is what I did for my snowglobes.
I went to Home Depot and bought pre cut wood shelf supports and drilled them into the studs of my wall about 18 inches away from the ceiling (I have tall ceilings)
I also got 1" X 12" wood the length of my walls. I now have two walls with these shelves in my dining room with all my snowglobes on them.
They are up high so no one can touch them but they are visable to everyone.

I collect Snow Globes too but don't have anywhere near as many as you. Here are some pics:

I just added a Hercules Snow Globe and a Sleeping Beauty Snow Globe to the group and have a couple of little ones up in my office.

I'm trying to stop buying them since I'm out of space for them.

I don't collect snow globes for the snow globes but I've collected music boxes/musical figurines for years and some of them have snow globes as part of them. I never focused exclusively on Disney but I have a small collection of Disney ones -- several from The Lion King, a few from Beauty & the Beast, some from Aladdin. I even have two musical teapots -- one from Beauty & the Beast and one from Lion King. I've seen some gorgeous ones for Pirates of the Caribbean that incorporate snow globes and I've coveted them.

I also collect disney snowglobes. I have nowhere near 100 though. With the disney store closing it has made it a bit harder to get them since none of my family is as computer savy as me and prefers not to order things off the internet for my b-day and holidays.

What a GREAT idea! I'm now thinking how I can do that... :-P

It's funny that there are other people that collect snowglobes. When I visited the Disney Collectors Board I thought for sure there would be something about snowglobes, and was sad to see there wasn't! I was afraid I was the only one who collected them!

I have three! :woohoo: I'd like more but I have limited space and limited funds as well! I have a Little Mermaid one, classic Pooh and a Villains one that is different from the one posted above. Love the snowglobes!
