The terms 'snowflake' and 'helicopter parent(ing)' are freely used on outwith the DIS Boards. Sometimes they have their own sections on education fora where the posters compare (no identifying names/schools or anything recognisable) episodes of trying to deal with these 'special' students and their parents; some of whom see nothing wrong in physically threatening teachers who choose to adhere to school regulations.
It can be summed up with the example....whilst watching a marching band , one parent was heard to exclaim "Look, they're all out of step except our darling"
