beautiful weather here today! It was in was sunny and in the low 70's. More of that tomorrow! My husband is coming home tonight . . . Well early tomorrow morning, I suppose. We are celebrating his pending graduation and my birthdaY this wekend. I'm having a spa day on Saturday morning and then dinner. I'm hoping that by celebrating the completion of his course this weekend, he won't get suspicious and find out about his surprise party LOL

Oh no I've corrupted all of my Snowbird friends! $25 extra this week at the store here...$50 extra this week there...no one is the wiser. I don't want any mad Snowbird DH's coming after me!

Kim- We've never been to the Great Wolf Lodge but my aunt lives in VA and they talk about that place like I talk about Disney so it must be decent!







Okay I have to admit out loud that I'm in a huge Disney funk again. I go through spurts where I convince myself not to be but I am and always will be until we go again. I just keep thinking about how much fun I was having last year and the year before getting ready for our January trips and now that there's no January trip to plan this year... *sigh* November of next year seems ridiculously far away and it's not even a definite yet. Maybe if I book a room only reservation it will make me feel better. And there's no loss of money if I cancel or change it later. Hmmmmm ...like Pooh says.....think think think.

HI STRANGERS!! Oh, how I've missed you all!! (I hope someone remembers me~it's been almost a whole year!!) Anyone...? Anyone...?

Hope you all are doing well. Just got back on the Dis-my friend emailed me reminding me that they had free dining for a good part of next year. Got me and Andy both with the Disney bug again...wasn't too hard I have to say!!!

It's been almost 2 whole years since we went! I can't believe that. Went on a Carnival cruise this past July with my parents and some other family members. It was great, but it just wasn't the same. Keaton keeps saying he wants to go to Disney because he's never been...he's been 3 times, just too little to remember it! Guess he needs a trip, though, RIGHT??? Hoping to be another January Snowbird!!!

Aww...those boys are TOO sweet! And Sharee, I just caught up on your trip report. Can't believe you went in July!!

And, I'm glad you girls see my point, I mean, isn't it some form of neglect to NOT show my son the Disney magic? I'm so awful, I got nothing at all done yesterday, and even priced a trip (not as much as I'd expected for Pop, preferred room, upgrade to regular DDP, plus airfare). SO, JUST IN CASE, I went ahead and made ADR's for Ohana and Crystal Palace. Better to be prepared just in case, right?? When I sheepishly told Andy later, his words were, "Just book the trip. We're going!" Anybody got a money tree I can borrow???

Well I found out today that I got a promotion for the Holidays at work. I really wasn't expecting it, so I'm very happy with it. I'm also rather nervous about it. It's alot more responsibility, but the reason I got it is because my District Manager and the General Manager of the store all think I'm the best for it. * I also get a raise to go along with it....so more to save for my "Vacation Fund"*

We are having our own celebrations today. My birthday was Wednesday so my hubby is sending me to the spa tonight we are going to dinner to celebrate my husband's accomplishment. He has been working on his masters degree for some time now and he just finished and aced his final project. He will graduate this semester! He was the only one in his class to pass and he did so with a 98%

Shelly & Mindy: congrats!!

After waiting impatiently on Thursday and Friday for my surgeon to get back to me... he sent me an email early Saturday. That means, of course, I didn't look at my email until Saturday afternoon. How does that work?

Anyway! The CT scan looks good and we can proceed. He asked me how soon I wanted to do so and that could be the next hang up: no earlier than the week of October 24th and no later thank Thanksgiving or... February. I guess we'll see!!

Airfare keeps flopping around for my Disney cruise. I think I might break down and buy it tonight. (First, AirTran was way cheaper. Then Delta was close in price. Then Delta changed the cheap flight and AirTran got rid of their's. narf!)

Whew - a wonderful weekend here - BEAUTIFUL weather!! in the 80s! That rarely happens in October!

Sarah - good news on the knee! I hope your surgeon gets back to you! Too funny about how he created these expectations of a quick response!

Kim - I just happened to notice at my grocery store yesterday a pack of 3 $15 Disney gift cards! I didn't buy them, but filed it away for future use!

We don't know when we're going back to WDW, but we just got this BIG book from DVC yesterday. All color photos, glossy... makes me want to book it now!! I'm going to be spending a lot of time going over point charts I think! We will have a few points that were from this year we have to bank by the end of October, so next year we'll have a few extra. Maybe we can use some in the summer at Hilton Head (we're going to VA for a wedding) or next October for WDW! Our kids have a couple days off in October that not everywhere does (just the whole state of MN!) and it would be fun to go then. Except it would require part of the stay on the weekend, which costs more points. Maybe a split stay...but if it's only 4 -5 days, I don't want to do that.
See how this is going to make me obsess and go crazy?

Sheree- I just have to say that I fully blame you. I found myself looking at DVC resales this weekend and drooling over some of the DVC resorts and saying to myself we could do 50 points if I budget just right! All the points talk and everything is kind of overwhelming. Happy reading and maybe you could explain it in easy terms to the rest of us!

Happy Monday everyone! I'm dragging today. Everyone but me is sick. Em was up coughing all night. I got up for nothing since 2 of my daycare kids are going to be out and the other 2 don't come until 10. Would have been nice to know that my early ones weren't coming today before I got up at the crack of dawn. It would have been the perfect day to sleep in a little.
At least I got an early start on laundry and have some time to DIS.

Kim!! Sorry that they didn't let you know!!That to me, is so rude!! You should have gotten that extra sleep!! I had that darn sinus junk again all weekend...started Friday, as usual!!! Started extra Vit C yesterday and I do feel less pressure in my head and not as stopped up....a little more energy too...finally!!!! I needed to work on my ADRs...but was tooooo tired!!!
It's still warm during the day here--80s last week and this week...me and dd are planning to run out and get mums and pansies here shortly....we'll do some school work when we get back..it's toooo pretty this morning!! So..here's a question for you girls...our first full day of MK we have one CS and one TS scheduled for the day...CS the kids said they might want to do Columbia Harbour House...*I was shocked..it's usually Cosmic Rays right off the bat*...anyway,...I had ADRed The Plaza Restaraunt...after I got to looking at that menu, I was wondering if we should just skip it.....I have a backup at Tonys that I got this weekend-have any of you been there recently? We haven't eaten there in about 3 years....I just don't want to get in there and it be sandwiches that are blaaaaahhh....If it's still pretty good that's ok-but don't want the crew to shoot me!!!! LOL Course-a good milkshake will make up for it I guess!

OK, we've pretty much decided to go. I talked to Andy last night, and he said that Disney to us was like needing air~we HAVE to go. He's got it worse than I do. I talked to the MIL about it, and she would like to go but doesn't think Jan would work for her, but I priced May, and it would be $600 more for us, not to mention we'd have to upgrade to POR to have room for 5, which would increase the price even more. (She'd probably pay the difference, but...)

So I think we're going to surprise the kids for Christmas, so we can justify SOME of the cost. The trip will be from us, and then Santa will still bring some gifts. Plus my sister bought a house that will close end of Nov (I'm a p/t Realtor) so the commission will pay for the majority of it. We'll probably do Jan 22-29, POP preferred, free dining, upgrade to DDP, dine at Ohana, Crystal Palace breakfast (wanna see Main St USA empty!)...Hmmmmm, you'd think I put a little thought into this!

Well dang....just had a thought...I will just tell y'all what our foody plans are and get some info from you girls!!!!
Okay...for our full MK day...I already told you!! CS can be whatever, TS is The Plaza or Tonys (we do Tonys every time.. it is good ,but I wanted something different for this day,...but if the Plaza is gonna disappoint I would rather do a good standby!)
2 Hollywood Studio days-Full day:CS lunch, 50s PT for dinner....
Half day: Brown Derby for lunch, CS dinner at MK if we go back for MESP & Wishes
Days at Epcot:CS lunches,TS dinners: Rose and Crown,Le Cellier, Garden Grill,Nine Dragons
Thur: if the weather is good, the evening will be a CS dinner and MVMCP!! Morning is slow-probably swimming, laundry and Beaches and Cream...can't do an ADR, but we love this little place!
Sat is going to be a shopping day...DTD!!! We will probably do Earl of Sandwich and we have an ADR at one of the aforementioned WS places....
Sunday is our day to leave..so we will pack up, deposit luggage and head to WS one last time...we will eat a TS lunch and then if we have time wander around...the ME will probably get us around 2 or 3.....
So...the Plaza/Tonys thing is the only big dilemma...should we stick to it and go there, or just hang with Tonys because we 'know' it?

congrats!!!!! How fun!! At least you won't have to freak out and stress for months like the rest of us!! LOL!! You don't need toooo much time to plan..we all know by now what we like and don't like...it's the ADRs that are causing confusion!!!! I know you are gonna have a blast!!! What a great Christmas gift!! I love doing it like that too!!!!
