Wendy, I'm glad you and your house came out of the party ok. I haven't played spoons since high school. We used to play that a lot and spades and hearts, and bs.

So my hubby and I had a big talk and he wanted to try and do a WDW trip if our tax return was big enough. Just do a bare bones, no dining plan, PC trip. Then his computer decided it was time for it to die. I swear I'm convinced that God has decided "no more WDW trip for you little lady". Oh well I guess there's 2012.

There are always great deals on computers... he should be able to pick up one for what the dining plan would cost:rotfl:

The biggest problem is that he "needs" a gaming computer. We have 3 laptops that are not really used. However they will not play World of Warcraft very well. Since we spent $2,400 on laptops for me to play Wow in the last couple of years, he is insisting on getting a new one. He wants an Alienware. I said that was fine, and I would even let him play with it for a few days before you was buried with it.:lmao:

He did have me price a WDW trip in November. It could still be possible, if we can get him a computer, fix my car, and pay a couple months rent, DH needs an eye exam with possibly needing glasses, I need new contacts, and then pay for 90% of the trip out of the tax return. (I would love to add an iPad to that list, but DH refuses.) Technically there is a chance, but I'm not going to count on it. Right now I will just be happy if I can get through this week of math with my sanity. I'm planning on getting through the last 2 sections, and on to the next math class. Since it's self-paced, I could pay for 1 class and take 2 classes. In order to do this, I have to get through the last 2 sections of math. Then on Tuesday I'll have to take 2 section test, 1 final exam, and the entrance exam for the next class. Since it had been so long since I had algebra last, I opted to take Into to algebra to make sure my grades were good. The Intro will not count towards my degree. If I am able to complete the into and algebra classes in the next 4 weeks, I will not have to pay for a class not going to my degree. I'll shut up now, though. I'm probably rambling and not making too much (if any) sense. I've been up all night doing math. Have a great day birdies!!

Wendy, glad the party went well!! They seem like nice kids! Your sons gf is very pretty, by the way!!The statement about the disposal cracked me up! Wookie, hope all your math stays clear for you and you can just whiz through those exams! Maybe that tax return will be good and you can start planning.
Hope ya'll are off to a great Monday...ours is wet/damp/soggy and chilly....should be this way off and on all week. We are battling sinus drainage a lot in our area!Dh was up and at it early for work...his knee has been doing tremendously well..Praise the Lord!! We start PT today and go for our Post Op tomorrow.Ya'll have a blessed Monday! I was going to update my TR today---we'll see...have lots to catch up on from the weekend.

Just a suggestion on the glasses... I needed new ones this year also... lat year I paid almost $400 and my prescription changed:confused3 anyway I had my exam and the doctor wrote out my prescription and I ordered my glasses on line from zenni optical... anyway my no-line bifocals with progressive lens with the anti scratch and a nice frame cost me $64 including shipping!!!!!!! I think they might have contacts as well.....

Good luck with the math/tax return/computer/trip Wookie!!!

Shawna - glad to hear Mike's knee is doing well.

Monday morning was TOUGH!!! I did not want to move, let alone go to work! No good reason, just didn't want to. LOL! Oh well, I'm here, and all alone in my office. So I don't have to work right??
Maybe I'll do an update on my TR. Even if photobucket gives me crap about exceeding my bandwidth. I'm excited to finish the day I'm working on. Shawna - you're in it again!

Hi there everyone. I had a very long and busy weekend so I wasn't able to Dis. Sat morning I had to teach ballet and then I had to get ready for the Bandits game (lacrosse team that I dance for). We FINALLY pulled out a win over the Minnesota Swarm (Sheree-have you ever been to a game?)!!! Anyways...Sunday morning I went to a cheerleading competition. A few girls on my dance team are coaches, so I went to support them and their teams. I brought Madison with me and she had a lot of fun. When we came home, I took a nice nap and then I had to get ready to go again. Since my dad was out of town, my mom took me to see "In the Heights" at our local theater (my parents have season tickets). It was amazing!!!!! The music, the dancing and most of all...their voices!! Everyone had a beautiful voice and I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend it to everyone.

So...I'm having a very lazy Monday. It's nearly 1pm and I'm still in my pj's! This week is also crazy busy. Old Navy actually decided to give me some hours this week (8 1/2..that's a lot!), I have to teach dance Wed night and I have another game this Sat night. On top of all that, I have to get things ready for our big Super Bowl party on Sunday night! We always have some friends over and I make homemade sloppy joes. Delish! Well, have a great day everyone!

Nope, never been to a game, but they play at the arena my DH works at (the Wild play hockey there too) so we have a few Swarm items around the house. Glad your team won, but too bad for us!
We had tickets to see In the Heights, b/c we get a theater subscription, but it was playing when we went to WDW!
I want a lazy Monday!!!! Enjoy yours!

You should definately go to a Swarm game sometime. Indoor lacrosse is awesome. Madison really enjoys the games, but I don't know what the atmosphere is like in other arenas. Ours is out of this world amazing! Music is constantly playing, the crowd is always into it...nothing like a hockey game. I enjoy our team (Go Sabres!), but hockey games are SOOO quiet compared to lacrosse. I do know that the Swarm have a very good dance team. I've seen the videos on their website.

Can you just pay to upgrade the various hardware on one of the laptops you already have? If you have three lying around it just seems a waste to buy an entirely new computer. If you just go out and get larger memory cards, graphics cards, and a bit more hard drive space, then it would probably work fine. Ok, so I don't know a lot about computers, but I know when my Mom's friend really wanted her to play Everquest she had to go out and get a new graphics card.

I know he probably wants the new computer, but sometimes it's better to reuse something you already have.

My husband wants to build a computer. He's had his laptop for 7 years or something, and it's about dead. (Now he just got another virus from watching episodes of Battlestar Gallactica online *rolls eyes* after he spent hours re-ripping all his media files on after clearing his hard drive) Also, he thinks it will be nice to have a desktop while we're in Korea. He hasn't mentioned it in a while though. Probably because we ended up getting him an iPOD Touch when his iPOD died. We decided on the Touch because it wasn't that much more than the Nano, and the new Shuffles have weird song skipping buttons (they're on the headphones, and he goes through headphones faster than he goes through iPODs) Also another perk of having a Touch is that they have web-surfing capabilities with only a Wi-Fi connection. He really wanted an iPhone, but he wouldn't be able to use it in Korea, because their cell phones are on a different bandwidth or something. But since the Touch only requires a Wi-Fi connection and those are all over the place it should be usable.

Anyways, I joined a Pregnancy message board, and it's really horrible. They all insist on talking about all the really controversial stuff. If it was just a pleasant debate, then it would be fine, but everyone gets soo defensive about everything like "you're a bad mother if you don't breastfeed your baby." Really ladies is that necessary? I do plan on breastfeeding, but I'm not going to get upset at someone else if they don't.

It's just not pleasant chatting like it is over here. I suppose pregnancy and parenting is just really controversial stuff, but wow.

I'll have to check that out. I need to new contacts right now. With 2 people in the house (maybe 2) wearing glasses any chance to save is a good one.

Good luck with the math/tax return/computer/trip Wookie!!!

Thanks.:goodvibes It went about like I thought it would, but no where like I had hoped. We got enough to almost cover 2 rent payments. I swear being an adult really stinks worse than Oscar the Grouch's trash can.

I'll have to talk to him about the laptop thing. Right now my plan is to give him my computer. I can do what I need to do in the game on the laptop he's on.

I wouldn't let them bother you too much on that Pregnancy board. The only reason they are saying things like "you're a bad mother if you don't breastfeed your baby" is b/c they feel like being behind their computer using a fake screen name gives them the right to say whatever they want. It's kind of like old women think they can say whatever they want b/c people should respect them b/c of their age. Honestly the thought of breastfeeding creeped me out. I wasn't able to do it anyway, but I did pump. I just hate it when people think that just b/c your way of parenting isn't like their, then your a bad parent.

Becca - Thanks to you, I have been declared a "genius" by my hubby. I suggested what you said. The look on his face was priceless. I could almost see the little lightbulb go off above his head. While I was out getting gas and breakfast, he took parts from one of the other laptops and put on one. Mostly more memory, I think. He thinks it will actually work well enough. He said that if I hadn't brought it up, he would have never even thought about it.

Oh Becca!! Let it begin!!!! It is a very hot topic!! I did breastfeed all 3 of my kids...and for what all my friends thought was "forever"...but it was over before i knew it and I miss having a tiny baby to nurse and cuddle!! Whatever you feel is right for your baby is what is important...I do think breastfeeding is the best---but some people can't/won't---that is their decision, not mine...but I did have people who thought for some reason it was their right to argue to me why they didnt do it:confused3 It's just like anyother matter about parenting...seems like some people just HAVE to take it upon themselves to argue their agenda to everyone...and it doesn't matter if you dont even bring up the conversation!! WOW!!! You would not believe some of the junk I have heard...from breastfeeding, homeschooling, Disney every year....geez, I guess I just lead a controversial lifestyle:rotfl:

Becca- you can stay here and we can talk pregnancy all you want! We'll be nice.

Just wanted to tell you all that Kim (Northern Disney Girl) is on her way home! She passed through Mpls last night and we met up at MOA for dinner. This time our whole families got to meet. We had a great time visiting for about an hour and a half. The girls got along so well - they were like they'd known each other forever! We even got to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express! :thumbsup2
They will be driving home today, so hopefully we'll hear from Kim about her great trip on Wednesday! I know that they had a lot of fun, but that's all I can tell! ;)

Breastfeeding is actually one of the least controversial things they talk about. Basically everything just upsets me more than anything else, because they don't have to be that mean about it. It's just ridiculous to me, because obviously we're all getting opinions about our choices from everybody else in our lives, why get upset because someone halfway across the country doesn't want to raise their kid the way you're choosing to raise yours. Actually the most I've learned on that board is from researching other people's questions. I was completely convinced that I should avoid the really popular names for my baby, because I didn't want him/her to have a million other kids in their class with their name. I did some research on it, however, and found out that the popular names aren't as popular as the names that were in the same spot on the list when I was growing up. Basically, people are using a larger variety of names. I'll probably still avoid the Top 10 names, but some of the names I like are down around 20, so if I really have trouble coming up with a unique name that really fits my kid I can go with something more popular and it probably won't be too bad.

Becca- you can stay here and we can talk pregnancy all you want! We'll be nice.

I know you will, though you may try to convince me to sneak in that extra Disney trip every once and while, but I'm ok with that kind of peer pressure:rolleyes1.
I posted some of my Disney pictures on my profile over there, and someone mentioned that they really want to go to Disney, but it's too expensive to go more than once during her kids' lifetimes, so she wants to wait until they're older. I told her that it doesn't have to be that expensive, and listed some of the reasons why. Her DH is even in the military! I don't think she ever responded.

It's hard to believe I had knee surgery 16 weeks ago today! Man, those first six weeks were brutal, the next six weren't so bad, and the remaining four have been pretty good. I'm officially crutch-free! I have less pain in my activities that I did before!:woohoo::woohoo:

My leg is still pretty weak, but that's why I'm in physical therapy. "Unfortunately", my PT asked me today how my home program was going and I said "yeah, it's too easy." I now no longer have too easy exercises! :faint: He's a real slave driver but it's great and I find myself able to do more than I thought I could!!

For all the DHs here who have had to go through surgery, I hope that they NEVER have to deal with this. It's so not easy but, on the upside, it's SO been worth it.

My friend and I - the one who went to WDW with me in September - are making plans to go to DL next January! And today she mentioned planning another trip in 2012. Hooray!

Hi everyone! I'm back home and started a TR so I can ward off those post Disney blues. It's not working so far. :confused3

Meghan- I would love to have a lazy Monday sometime soon. Or Tuesday or Wednesday, you get the idea.

Does your area have a local mommies network? I belong to my local one and have met some great moms through it. http://www.themommiesnetwork.org/locations.php I used to belong to another moms group but they were all angry about something at all times.

If you don't take your child to WDW every year from the time they are born, you are a bad parent.:lmao: Sorry I couldn't resist, and am totally joking.:goodvibes

:dance3::cheer2::dance3::banana: I'm so glad your doing so well. Keep this up and you'll be walking around WDW in no time.

:lmao::rotfl2: I agree - MUST TAKE KIDS TO DISNEY EVERY YEAR!!!
You guys are too funny!
Becca- I had name issues too. When we named Sarah, it was near the top of the list. My friend and I were pregnant together, and she wanted to name her kid Sarah if it was a girl but would spell it Sara just to be different from me. I really didn't care, it's not like we were neighbors and in the same schools. Turns out she had a boy. Anyway, we have hardly run into any other Sarah's in all her classes and lessons. Only once in almost 9 years!!! Paige, we've bumped into more often, in fact Sarah's best friend is also named Paige! I thought that was WAY less common! You never know!

I wanted to give my boys unusual names, but then DH and I made a deal. He got to name the boys and I got to name any girls we had. If I had named them, one would have been Jorgenson or Jameson. David wanted common names that were also in the Bible. He originally wanted the first son to be named after him, but I refused to have a jr. He came up with the name Joseph and I agreed b/c I wanted to call him Joey, then the DH added his middle name to it making him Joseph Brian. DH came up with the name John (he wanted a common name that started with a J and was in the Bible) and then the DH wanted to use his first name as his middle name. So, it would have been John David. However, by this point I knew we weren't going to have any more kids. I wanted to give him the middle name Michael b/c 1.my mother always wanted a son named Michael 2.if his name was John Michael he would have the names of the two little boys in Peter Pan and it has always been one of my favorite children's books.

Also, just a reminder...Just b/c you buy a product that the expiration date has not expired, it doesn't mean it isn't moldy. I went to the store this morning and then later went to make myself lunch. David went with his dad today to talk to him about going to work for him. Well I went to make the chicken cheese with rice and veggies I have been craving for lunch. I had bought a 2 cup bag of shreaded Velveeta cheese. When I put it on the rice, I noticed small mold peices. The expiration date wasn't until April 28, 2010.
