HEY MY SNOWY PEEPS!!! :goodvibes

It is a lovely sunshiny day here in Northwestern Ontario and I am feeling good! :cool1: I have had 2 unexpected days off in a row and I am really enjoying some time for ME! :woohoo:

Shawna - lovin that PTR - more please!:thumbsup2

Sarah - Shawna is so right! Think of this time as the means to an end! You WILL get through it! The other side of it all will be so worth the pain and trouble! On a brighter side, you will have AWESOME parking places for the next few months! :lmao:

Soleil - YAY :yay: for the new builder! I am so happy for you guys! Things should start chugging along quickly now! You'll have anew house before you know it! Can't wait to see pics! My dad was a part time builder when I was growing up so I absolutely  looking at plans and house building pics! :goodvibes

Kim - sorry your little guy is not enjoying school as much as he could! That's tough! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You will make the right choice for him because you are a great mom! :thumbsup2

Hope y'all are having a great day! I know I am! Hugs to all!

I'm having a grumpy morning today. Some days are really tough to get DS off to school. He likes it a little but keeps asking when it will be done. He's only in his first couple of weeks! I miss him terribly but am staying positive for him trying to get him to focus on the fun things he likes. Trouble is that there are more things he doesn't like. He has more fun learning at home and I do more with him at home than they have been at school so he's bored. They're learning the ABC's and at home he's learning sight words and starting to read. I'm considering homeschooling. DH is not interested in the idea. I'm saying my prayers for a little guidance right now. I want what is best for him. Right now my gut says that an overcrowded class of 29 Kindergarten kids isn't the right place. Whew! Sorry just needed to vent a little.

I'm sorry to hear that you (and your DS) are going through this. We went through it with DS10 in K and 1st grade. I was so worried we were going to struggle the whole way through school being unhappy. Luckily we moved here for DH's job the summer after 1st grade and he has done fabulous since then. I tell you, it was a real blessing in disguise ending up in our school district. I thank the Lord for it often.

I will be praying for you. Stay strong, I'm sure the answer will come to you.

Thanks for the hugs ladies :goodvibes

Shelly where are you girl! I'm moving to your school district!
I'm actually sort of not kidding. DH and I have been talking quite a lot lately about moving to PA or DE. MD is such an expensive state, we're not happy with the school district, hate our house...need I go on! The only thing keeping us here is family. My vote is to move to FL but DH is not a fan of the heat. :rolleyes1

 We are about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh!

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of jobs here. But I guess that probably goes for a lot of places right now. :sad2: What does your DH do?

My DH's company has a location in Lakeland FL. He could transfer there anytime he wanted to. But he totally hates the heat & humidity! I would go, even though the snakes and gators freak me out!:rotfl:

Gators!!!:scared1: I didn't take them into consideration- I was just thinking of Mickey when I said I want to move to FL!

DH is a technician for Ford so if he could find a dealership somewhere we'd be fine. He's been lucky so far. Mechanics are in demand, salesmen and other white collar workers at his place- not so lucky :sad2:

Sarah~ things are chuggin' right along for ya!!!I know you are gonna be so glad to get it behind you! One of those things you don't reeeeaaaallllllyyyy want to do..but know it's the best thing for you! I totally understand! Kinda like being pregant...you don't realize that it has to stop at some point. I mean, you do, but you don't dwell on it..then labor starts:scared1: You have to get through it for it to end....then you know it was for the best! Kind of a weird analogy, huh? Sorry...it was what popped into my head!!!!

No, it makes sense. Gotta endure the next bit in order to live life after! On the knee forum, a guy who had the same surgery (and is much older) came back and posted that, at nine months post-surgery, he was able to jog.

I know many of you might think this is nuts but that's my end goal. I want to run a 5k and, right now, we're aiming for a race in June 2011. I might never run another 5k, but I want to have the ability to do so! Right now, I don't.

Once I fill out the University's paperwork, I'll be able to park directly outside my office with my parking pass! I call it a small favor (and I wouldn't be surprised if that's a reason I go back to work earlier than 6 weeks).

Today's my Friday! Tomorrow, we're heading to Iowa (please stop laughing!) for a cousin's wedding. :) And then I actually have to work 5 days each week. Can you believe it?!

DH always says we couldn't afford to move to FL because I would always be at WDW!! I told him I would get a job there, but it's still a no-go! :confused3:rotfl:

Well, you're in luck - we have a Ford Dealership here!! :goodvibes

Oh Kim! I think you should move...your family could visit!!! Ha!!! I really need to get to Pa...I have been fascinated with it since childhood. What's up with that? Must have been something we studied in elementary!!!!!

Shelly....do NOT move down here....the humidity is atrocious. If Mike would move up north, I would be packed before he got home from work. I absolutely HATE our climate!!!! I remember every summer how bad I don't like it!!

Sarah~ poor you!! I am sorry you are gonna have to work a full week!!!:lmao: Take total advantage of that parking sticker!!!!

Kim~ yes ma'am... I will be working on my PTR today. I really need groceries...but that'll have to wait......I have my public waiting!!!:rotfl::surfweb:

Yes, Kim you should move here. And Shawna you should come for a visit! :thumbsup2 (Or you could move here too - although probably not the best weather for a home builder)

I know we would be miserable most of the year because of the heat if we moved down there, but it is so tempting to be closer to WDW!!!

I'm in a mood, ya'll!!! :headache: FexEx and UPS are not my friends today.

Oh no...whatever did the mail system do!!!

I have to agree with all of you the humidity this summer has been the worst of all the 5 years I have lived in FL and I'm not sure the move to TX is going to improve on that!!! Oh well...at least I'm not dealing with 160 inches of snow like I was in Alaska LOL!!

I think where you are going to be is a lot less humidity than here. At least that's what my family that moved over there always say.I actually met an older lady last week that is moving over there...Georgetown i think she said. Anyway, the humidity is (according to her) usually at 37%..... Ours is from about 85...on a good day....to 100%. So... keep heading that way girl!! don't come over here!! Ha! I am gonna come see you!!!!!

Shelly~ I would looooove to come visit!!!! I want to see the Liberty Bell..so do my kids!

Well, I know PA isn't quite as big as Texas, and once you're up north it might make sense, but just as an FYI - the Liberty Bell is in Philadelphia, on the east coast of PA, and Pittsburgh is on the west coast, closer to Ohio. They're about 5 hours driving time apart, according to Mapquest.

Hi ya'll! I posted some yard pics on my PTR....only thing is they came out HUGE!! I don't know why.. I did them just like my others...Oh well..ya'll check them out!! The only thing I have left to get are some mums for mikes office... and some pumpkins!!! We are watching Mariposa (Barbie....again) I keep getting sidetracked!! Ha! I guess I will sign off for now!!!! Nighty night girlies!!

Hi Everyone,

I hope I am allowed to join in even though I am oh about 64 pages late!

This is my first time going to wdw in January! We are staying at the Boardwalk for a week, the last week of Jan. to be exact. So does anyone have any tips or tidbits of info I should know about when going this time of year?

I went in February once when I was 18 with a (boy)friend to escape a bad DC blizzard that was heading our way... I stayed offsite, it was my first time and I knew absolutely nothing about crowds, extra magic hours, etc.

:wave2: Hi, acejka! :welcome:
Of course you are welcome to join in! We all went to WDW in January 2009 and have been chatting since before those trips...and we're still at it! Many of us are planning our next trips, some in January 2010 and some at other times.

I see you are in Springfield VA--I just moved from there! We were near the Parkway and Sydenstricker. (humming a chorus of "It's a Small World"...sorry! :rolleyes1) We are now in Belgium so I'm working on planning a trip to Disneyland Paris! :yay:

Anyway, as far as January at WDW...we found it to be chillier than we expected! I laugh when I look at our pictures, because we are all wearing the same sweatshirts in all of them, because we each only brought one! I think it's really hit-or-miss, though...it could be in the 80s every day. Bring some of everything!

It was probably a little busier than I expected (we were there Jan 20-25, 2009). Certainly not huge crowds, but I was glad we knew to get there for the start of EMH, use Fastpass wisely, etc. (We are definitely an "Unofficial Guide" type family, although we try to not be too commando about it!) Again, I think January crowds are hit-or-miss, so it could be really quiet when you go.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip! I'd love to stay at the Boardwalk sometime! :goodvibes

It is a small world! I was just after the Rolling Road exit!!!
I was telling my dh that we should be careful with packing because of weather and he laughed at me!
I am a tour guide mike person so I will renew and keep all of his tips in mind while I plan-we aren't commando but we do like to get a lot done. Last trip, we used his tips, but did all the stuff we'd never bothered to pay attention to-one man's dream, the drawing classes etc.

I am excited!!

What is Belgium like?? You must tell me about your trip to DL Paris when you get back!!

yeah for Jen!!! I know she is having a blast!!!! We are having some HOT weather back down here...so I know Jen probably is too!!!! How funny that ya'll both got to meet STACEY!!! Ha!!!!!!!

Just got back from.....christmas shopping!!! I am almost finished!! YIPPEE:yay::santa: come over to the Christmas thread and I will tell you what I got! Ha!

Soleil.... glad it is working out for you with the new builder... you'll have to post some photos for us to show us the progress!!!
