UUURRRRRRRRGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sitting at work an hour later than usual because MY CAR IS DEAD!!!! I'm pretty sure it's the battery-we tried to jump it, but the cables this girl had were small and it wouldn't clasp real good on the battery. it gave it enough juice for the radio to come on, but nothing else! Hubby's on his way, after he gets Drew to soccer, gets Keaton from daycare, stops at home to get the cables and drives the 25 miles to my work!! Again, UUURRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

We were chilly at WDW last January, but according to DLP trip reports I've read, it might be bone-chilling cold there. I'm thinking of staying at the Davy Crockett Ranch, which has a really neat indoor pool...but apparently it's not heated  So maybe end of March would be better? :upsidedow

Any thoughts would be appreciated...I really just wanted to talk about it with other people who would understand my excitement about planning a little trip! :goodvibes

We did Paris for my birthday while we were in Prague, which is in November, so Winter-like if not actually Winter. It was pretty cold. Warmer than Prague, but still pretty cold, so I would recommend going as late in the Spring as possible just to push more toward the warmth. Of course a front could come in that could change everything, but I was amazed how cold it gets in Europe, and it's like a wet cold, soo totally bone-chilling.

Even before the wedding -- it makes excellent blackmail material ("You behave or I'll show this picture to your prom date!")!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out. I know she'll be visiting friends in Nantes and heading to England as well (maybe on the Chunnel train?), so it's a great idea to prepay it. Study abroad wasn't as popular when I was in school as it is now, so I never went.

How did you like Prague? A friend's daughter just got back from her semester there and loved it!

I made a point of going. I chose my first major based on the fact it had a semi-mandatory study abroad trip in the 4th year. That lasted less than a year though, because I realized that I could have a major that didn't kill me and still study abroad. I'm trying to convince my younger brother to do it, but I'm not sure he will.
I really enjoyed it. The weather towards the end made me want to come home, but they had an ice storm here, so I think I actually lucked out.

We let our builder go today. I feel really horrible about it. I hate to hurt anyone's feelings.

Back to the drawing board....

Awww...I hate hurting people's feelings too, but you can't feel too bad about it, because you were paying him for a service that he wasn't providing you.

Aww, I'm soo sorry. I hate car trouble, because it makes you feel so helpless!

So sorry this is happening to you! Remember, though - this is business. Hurt feelings are not involved. And better now than later, after the house is a month overdue and a third over budget and you can't get him to do anything!

Soleil~I am sorry this is still going on...but I agree with Wendy 100%. Will be praying the Lord sends you the right builder!

Oh, I am feeling your pain! I hate when this stuff happens!! Makes you want to scream! Even tho it doesn't change anything, kinda makes you feel better!!! Hopefully by now you are all taken care of and tomorrow will be better!!:cutie:

That is the truth!

Okay....gonna try to post some pictures of my yard work!! The first ones are gonna be the front big bed...the new plant that I looooove is my variegated Hydrangea...it reminded me of a Dr. Suess tree because the limbs hang over! The one next to it on the far right, that looks kinda fuzzy, is a Fox Tail Fern. These are also new to me this year....they reaally like our climate! I have some in a small bed at the end of the driveway..didnt get a picture of that.

The next ones are the bed in the back that has been empty all summer! I am not through with it...since it's been raining, I can't get out there and finish it.I have a new Crepe Myrtle, Fox Tail Ferns, Agapantha (lily of the Nile), variegated Ginger... and a new-to-me tree/shrub....A Sweet Olive. It'll bloom and be very fragrant! I will post more when I am finished. Doesn't look like that much work, but hauling all those rocks was a chore I tell you!!!!And the mulch bags weren't light!!!!

Hey Snowbirds how are you all doing this week???????

I'm getting majorily excited for my trip, I leave right after work on Friday!!!! I'm actually seeing the light at the end of the tunnel YAY!!!:cool1:

Do any of you listen to the K-Love radio station? A Christian artist just called in and talked about Belle on the air. They are in performing at our school and she has apparently made a big impression. I missed it!!!

Shawna- I love your yard, but I must say my favorite part is the precious scarecrows. Too cute! I didn't even notice the junk.

You go girl!!!! I'm so excited that you are going on another trip. Is it bad that I'm also getting excited that it's just getting a tad closer until you live in my neighbor state.

Shawna & Jen- We totally need to have a Texas meet when Jen moves closer!

I love my scarecrows too!! They are a boy and girl...I will take better ones today...My local flower people are getting their mums and pumpkins today...so I guess i will be in the yard again!!! and yes...I would love to do a Texas meet!!!! And thanks for not noticing my yard junk!! Ha!!

Shelly...I am an idiot....what link are you talking about? I looked last night till my eyes were crossed and didn't see what I was suppose to do.:confused3

OK...so we totally did NOT get the weather I was hoping for. Yes, it was dark and drizzly yesterday...but it is sunny today and it's already 80 degrees!!! I was thinking high of 70s....maybe it will come later. I was diappointed! Got to finish my yard in 'not optimal' temperatures:lmao:

okay I am a computer idiot becasue I can't get this boo thing to work in my signature... it keeps just showing up as the url.....help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I promise not to bug you all with anymore house updates, but I just had to give the good news.

We have gone with another builder, which was actually our 1st choice and we went with 2nd because he promised more house for our price. (Won't make that mistake that again.)

G and I signed a contract of intent today and they should start on the dirt work this week. They are building directly beside us, so we are sharing the cost of dirt with our neighbors and they are getting to start working already.

We are building the exact same house, but 100 square feet smaller. It's all working out very well.

I should be back to myself very soon! Thanks for listening everyone.:grouphug:

OH Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!!!! I am soooo happy! I just figured out how to post my PTR link here!!!!! Thanks Shelly!!! I was looking at the top of the Dis board page...not the top of the computer. Okay girls...come over!!!!

Soleil--congratulations on signing with your new builder! I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out! :goodvibes

Off to check out Shawna's PTR... :surfweb:

Have a lovely day, Snowbirds! :flower3:

This calls for a happy dance!

:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::dance3::dance3::cheer2::cheer2:

I'm glad to hear it. I know you two have made the right decision for yourselves and for Belle!

I love all things house related and don't mind hearing about all the details that go into making a house a home.... from cabinets to bathroom fixtures!

I'm less than 3 weeks from surgery. I picked up my temporary handicap permit last night from our secretary of state office, which makes it seem REALLY quite real, you know? I was able to pretend it was far away until "after Disney." Now that it's after Disney, it's staring me in the face!!

Morning friends!!:goodvibes
Pluto fan did come say hey! :wave2: How fun!!!

Sarah~ things are chuggin' right along for ya!!!I know you are gonna be so glad to get it behind you! One of those things you don't reeeeaaaallllllyyyy want to do..but know it's the best thing for you! I totally understand! Kinda like being pregant...you don't realize that it has to stop at some point. I mean, you do, but you don't dwell on it..then labor starts:scared1: You have to get through it for it to end....then you know it was for the best! Kind of a weird analogy, huh? Sorry...it was what popped into my head!!!!
Well, my back is fine today...just tired because it is sooooo weird and gloomy lookin out here. Gotta get up and going..dd has ballet and we have friends coming over for lunch.....if not, I would stay right here on this couch all day!!! Ya'll have a wonderful day and enjoy it!!!!

What an answer to prayer!!! I'm glad you and G are happy with your decision and I can't wait to see the progress on your house!!!!! I know this has taken a toll on you so I'm glad to see God work in such a timely manner!!

Morning Snowbirds Glad everyone is well!

Soleil I'm glad things are FINALLY looking up for you! I love hearing about it so please keep sharing details as everything progresses. :goodvibes You know we're all dying to see how you decorate it!

Shawna- your gardens looks wonderful- and I'm a little jealous of that pool!;) I think I'll tell DH that our gardens would look better if they had a pool next to them.

I'm having a grumpy morning today. Some days are really tough to get DS off to school. He likes it a little but keeps asking when it will be done. He's only in his first couple of weeks! I miss him terribly but am staying positive for him trying to get him to focus on the fun things he likes. Trouble is that there are more things he doesn't like. He has more fun learning at home and I do more with him at home than they have been at school so he's bored. They're learning the ABC's and at home he's learning sight words and starting to read. I'm considering homeschooling. DH is not interested in the idea. I'm saying my prayers for a little guidance right now. I want what is best for him. Right now my gut says that an overcrowded class of 29 Kindergarten kids isn't the right place. Whew! Sorry just needed to vent a little.
