You ladies are too funny! 25, 30, and 35 - I have you all beat at the ripe old age of 36! I was okay with 30. Although I do agree - things really go downhill from there! I'm really really dreading 40. :sad2: I told DH no more surprise parties. I just want to hide when I turn 40. :rotfl:
Sorry - I've got you all beat, and by a good margin, too. In December, I'm turning 40. For the 14th time. Just wait until you guys get your AARP cards! :rotfl2:

Ha!!! Well, my family is known around here for longevity. My great-great aunt died just a couple of years ago, right around her birthday.....103!!!!! Can you believe that? And for a long time she had to help her daughter keep up with things as she was starting Alzheimers. She just recently died as well...almost 80. My great-grandfather was an unbelievable alcoholic for years!!! He died at 88--no telling how old he would have been if he had been sober earlier and not pickled his liver. My grannys family are all long-lifers too....when her mom( my great-Granny) died...at 86, her sisters and brothers were all so sad because she died SO YOUNG!!! They were all either upper 90s or 100!!!!
My Paw-Paw is 80 and he walks at the city track 5 miles a day.EVERY day.
So, I guess i will live to be a hundred too!!!! But...it sure doesn't make me feel better about 35!!!:rotfl:

Looks like the 2010 rates are out if anyone is interested. . . And from what people are saying they are charging extra for rooms for every little event going on, including the marathon in January.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. I haven't been around a lot b/c I've been keeping tabs of a friend who is in labor. The poor thing was at a 1 on Monday and last I talked to her, still hasn't had the baby. Plus I don't know what I did, but my shoulder is killing me. Well killing is a bit strong of a word, but like hurts enough to be annoying when not moved, and then more if I move it.

The pictures of the kids are soo cute!! I would post a recent one of Joey and John, but I haven't seen my digi cam since my DH's graduation (which he doesn't know). I haven't looked for it, b/c he's at home all the time and if he sees me looking for something he'll ask what I'm looking for and then know it's missing. I have some on my old hard drive, but DH partitioned it off and I can't get to it.

I'm only 33. Which it honestly didn't bother me turning 30. The only thing I didn't like it that my birthday is January 10 and my DH's is March 12 of the same year. Between me turning 30 and him turning 30 he went to great lengths to make sure everyone knew he was younger than I was, and I was an old woman of 30. My family has a mix of those that lived pretty long lives and those that went fairly young. I think my grandfather was in his 60's when he died of a stomach aneurysm. My dad's dad died a few months before his 100th birthday.

Kim (Wookie) I hope your friend delivers soon and all is well!

I noticed my rates are more for Friday and Saturday nights and I also noticed that the DDP prices have gone up too! :scared1: Thanks a lot Disney. Perhaps they raised everything because the discount they are going to release is going to be so great that they had to!

Thank you, I do as well. I got a text from her after I posted and she still hasn't had the baby.

I hope your right about the discount. Hopefully you that are still going in January will get some really good ones.

Ok ladies, I need to be talked down from a ledge in a way. I noticed that they had the list up of the cadlelight processional celebs, and noticed that Edward James Olmos is going to be the celeb narrator for Dec. 24-26. When I was planning a Christmas trip, it seemed like he was there the same time frame for 2008 & 2007. Does anyone know if he is usually the one for those dates? My family loves Battlestar Galactica. My boys will sit and watch old episodes of it over and over all weekend. Honestly at the age they are now, I think they would be more excited about see'ing "Admiral Adama" than Santa. So, what do you ladies think..keep the trip as is, change to the week of Christmas for the chance that Edward James Olmos is the celeb narrator, or don't leave my house b/c I am going to be taken to a very special hotel and on the way there they will give me a special jacket that buckles in the back for thinking of making yet another change?

I hadn't even looked at the 2010 DDP. Did it go up a lot? We probably won't get it again, unless it is Free! With DS being 10 now and the prices going up, it won't be such a great deal for us anymore.

I hope you are right and you get an awesome deal for January! :wizard:

:scared1: Disney must really be feeling the crunch too the raise not only ticket prices (by 6%) but to also raise the costs of rooms and dining plans!! Hopefully this will mean amazing deals to get people into the parks!!!!

I think they're doing it so they can give some "amazing deals" and make people happy. After all, everyone loves a bargain.

Let's say Disney wants to get $100/night for a room (just using round numbers). They price the room at $100/night. People start looking for bargains; when the codes don't come out, they're mad at paying "rack rate." Some may book, but some may not.

Now let's say that Disney prices that room at $150/night. Then they send out a PIN or a general public code offering that room for $100/night. Bingo! Now people happily book, thrilled that they got a 33% discount!

They're paying the same $100/night. In the first scenario, they're annoyed/angry; in the second, they're happy. Which guest would you rather have?

With all that, though, I sure am happy I'm taking my trips in 2009!

Post that one of her with those roller/curler things that I thought looked like electricity!!! That was tooooo cute!!!!! And she was so happy in that one too!Didn't she just start soccer or something too?

I will definately post it! She did play soccer this summer, but her last game was Saturday. I never took a picture of her in her soccer uniform! It was a recreational league and they played 4 on 4 with no goalie and they didn't keep score. She had a great time!

This is what Madison looks like the night before a feis! Those curlers are called soft spikes and they work so well. Plus, she says they're more comfy to sleep on than the foam rollers.

I just changed the last 2 nights of my reservation to OKW! :yay:

So now we are at POR for 6 nights with free dining and then at OKW for 2 nights - room only.

They are offering those awesome room discounts at OKW and SSR, so I decided to give OKW a try! :goodvibes

Thanks!!! I hope your boring/aggravating/weird or whatever family member finds something to do without you!! ha!!!!! Don't feel bad about turning 25--Sat I turned 35!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I just TURNED 25, how am I already 35? It's just nuts. But...have a wonderful weekend and a super happy birthday!!!!!

DH turns 36 this month! I swear he was also just 25 and I gave him suuuuuuuuuuch a hard time about it.

We made it to MA just fine. Sadly, we made it to the airport without the concert tickets. Happily, we live 15 minutes from the airport so DH dropped me off and went home and got them. But still - who needs that kind of stress to start their trip?

Shelly~good for you!! Let us know how you like it!And take some pictures for us!
Sarah...you are TOO funny!!!

Completely off topic rant...so I took a my very first day off from my new job tomorrow to take the fam to Six Flags StL. OF COURSE we're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow!! UGH!!! I was hoping it would hurry up and get here so maybe it would move out quickly...OH NO, it's beautiful, bright and sunny! (I can't remember the last time I complained about it being bright and sunny)!:rotfl:

did it work?

Keep those pics coming Shawna! I just love seeing pics of all the Snowbird families! :goodvibes Just so you don't feel left out, here's a pic of Madison that I posted in my TR last week.

003.jpg

This is Maddie in her Irish dancing costume with her hair all spiral curled. This was at her 2nd Irish dancing competition this year (it's called a Feis-pronounced FESH). She has her 3rd one coming up on August 8th!

I hope your hubbies have "the talk" planned out they are going to give all the boys that are going to line up to take those beautiful little girls out.

I just got a text from my friend and she went to the hospital last night, and they sent her home. No baby still.

Well maybe people will stay away and you'll have low crowds and it won't rain. I know when we had season passes to Six Flags over Texas we would go on purpose when it was supposed to be bad weather b/c the lines were a lot shorter.

Wookie~ he has already told her she has to be at least 30 before she can date... but at this point she says " I am NOT gettin married or having kids cuz I wanna stay home with ya'll" Ha!! We'll see!!!! And your poor friend!!! YIKES!!! She is surely gonna have that baby tonight...it's a full moon!!!!:thumbsup2
