I'm so glad to hear this! I know a dog may not seem impotant compared to the horrific losses in NOLA, but the thoughts of that poor little boy crying for his dog, all he had left, just broke my heart. I hope they will be back together soon. It seems a child (or anyone actually) would get a lot of comfort from their pet at a time like this.

Well on happy animal news....

Saw on the news today about a man and woman (I think father and daughter)--they had to evacuate to a hospital in Atlanta and had to leave their animals behind--dogs, cats, and a guinea pig. Their doctor promised to take care of them. They saw their animals on the news and saw that the doctor kept his word. Someone in Texas volunteered to drive the trip to Atlanta to reunite the family....and the man and the woman got to see their pets again. .

I'm so happy to hear this news. I get so sad watching all the poor animals that had to be left behind, and the people who were stranded because they couldn't take their pets so they didn't leave.
I said to my friend tonight that I've already hit my limit for donations and if I don't stop watching I'm going to be tempted to give away the house or something else stupid and drastic just to stop feeling so helpless!
I'm going to go hug my chihuahua now!
