On the same day that WDW opens an uneeded hotel they close a historic opening day attraction for a Princess meet and greet.
I would be less concerned about closing Snow White if they were only replacing it with something more substantial. However, if there must be a princess meet-n-greet (and it would seem that there must, based on the length of lines we've seen in the past), then Fantasyland is the best fit.

I just got back from MK, its a zoo, and Snow White's wait was the highest I've seen in years at around 60 minutes. Although I didn't ride it today, I will miss it simply for its nostalgia, and I just don't see why closing it is really necessary, because its pretty simple to have two snow white rides. At least, I don't see anything wrong with it...
snow white, while groundbreaking for its time, lacks some modern appeal.
they can digitally "wash" it all they want...but i can't think that today's kids or even when I was a kid would have that much interest....and those that "grew up" with it are leaving us...
so one snow white ride is a great thing...two is completely unnecessary.
I agree to some extent, but my main point which I didn't really get to was that another meet and greet is just crap. Any ride is better than a meet and greet imho. Those are put up as pressure relievers for crowds, yet in my experience they're kind of cruddy. How big is that expansion that they absolutely need that space for another meet and greet?
I'm interested to see what they do with the Dwarves' cottage too
Gift shop most likely.
in other news: sun expected to rise in the east tomorrow and set in the west

If the coaster has more than one show scene I won't mind as much. However if the only show scene is the mine from the art I think it is a waste.
I think you will see a concerted effort to NOT include these elements in as many rides as possible moving forward.
AAs break down...and cost money and maintenance men to fix.
And WDW has shown less of an inclination to do this with each passing day.
I took my son on Splash Mt in March - his first ride.
I personally believe that to be the best amusement park ride ever built...for a variety of reasons...but i was not pleased.
The thing looked duct taped together...and the turtle/ water fountain room - aka the best part of the ride - sat dead.
That is apalling...if i didn't know it wouldnt matter - i woulda gone to guest relations or beyond...
the question would have gone something like this: "so let me get this straight...when my tickets where 36 bucks in 1992 when the ride opened - you could afford to fix it. Now they are 95 bucks and you can't?
who's your accountant?"
I of course was not surprised by the condition of the ride...it just hit me harder than normal based on the situation and the number of years since i had been on the ride. But i digress...
i don't see in ride scenes to be stressed as it once was...
and you know what i'm really getting at: the Snow Capped White Elephant over in the corner of the room at AK
