Just rec'd a packet in the mail yesterday from WDW re: our Nov. trip. Looking through the map of the MK, I noticed that Snow White isn't noted in the fantasyland attractions. Did I miss something? It isn't gone, is it? I loved that little ride!

I am also going in November. Somewhere I read that they had toned down the "scarey" part of Snow White's adventure and that SW had more of a presence. Does anyone know if this is true? I have a skittish 5 yo and will not take her on it if it has not been changed.

Susie - not sure why it wouldn't be on the map. It was up and running in late Aug when we were there. I don't believe it is/was scheduled for rehab anytime soon either.

BCV - geez, i don't know if it has been changed. Hope someone else can help you out here. I would hate to say "oh, it's fine" and have you take DD and scare the pants off her. My DS handled it at 5, but he wasn't skittish.

Lori,
Thanks for the reply. I didn't think it was scheduled for rehab or closure either.

Anyone else been recently? Is it open?

We rode it last week on Thursday (9/11).

As far as it being toned down, I don't honestly remember what the scary parts were, but it didn't seem overly scary to me. There's the part in the beginning where the queen is looking in the mirror with her back to you and then she spins around and is the old woman. That's really all I remember that I thought would be scary. However, if someone can tell me about other "scary" parts, I might remember if it was still there. Our 6 yr old didn't have any trouble, but he's not usually scared by that stuff, and the 1 year old was fine too.

While I don't know exactly what changed, I do remember when it closed a few years ago for rehab that they said they had changed it to make it less scary, and the ending is definitely happy now with the dwarves all smiling and stuff. I'm pretty sure your daughter would be fine, but maybe do a test run first if you can.

We went first when our girls were 3 and 5, and the 5 year old was a bit scared, but went on again. Our last trip the girls were 7 and 5 and neither was nervous on the ride at all. The only ride that ever had any affect on our kids was the pooh ride, where my then 3 year old kept waking up in the night after we got home because of some monster under her bed. After a few nights, we figured out she was scared of heffalumps and woozles (no, I'm not kidding). She and her sister weren't even scared of the haunted mansion, but those woozles were a different story.:D

It's not really the "conventional" scary - more of an emotional thing. My 7 yr old DS was "scared" during it this past May but it was a short lived thing and he enjoyed the ride. He rode with my sister who was easily able to remind him of the happy ending of the story. It is based on the movie and my son also used to cry during the movie when snow white fell asleep when he was younger. He is also a very sensitive kid. If your daughter likes the movie and it doesn't frighten her and you can remind her of the happy ending she'll probably be fine - there really isn't anything scary - like coming at her (think dinosaur).
