Snow Whites Adventures to go down

You’d have to believe there is going to be SOME kind of projection mapping added for sure.

I love this ride (and Pinocchio too). One of the main reasons I’m a premier pass holder is so I can enjoy the Disneyland dark rides, which are so historic and unique. I want them kept up well, but not overly modernized. I can go to Magic Kingdom for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, which I also love, but they're different and each have their own place in the Disney universe

I was just telling my son this is the ride I'm most looking forward to. I just put a deposit on a November 2020 trip. Hopefully it'll be complete by then. My family loves dark rides and looks forward to all the ones in DL that aren't in WDW. We're coming from NJ so not sure when or if we'll head out to Disneyland again after this first trip.

I would guess it should be done by that time. I'm going in April, so I don't have much hope.

We made our first trip to Disneyland last year after years of cancellations due to closures. If it wasn't the castle, it was the Matterhorn. Or a dark ride. Of course, refurbs have to happen. I just wish Disney acknowledged the fact that not every visitor is a local and would give more notice of these closures. It's still early enough that we could plan around it, make changes if necessary. Of course, unexpected maintenance closures come up but if they know something is going down, release a schedule 6 months out. They obviously know the dates the rides will be closed. Let us know as well so we can plan accordingly. These aren't day trips to Six Flags. These are extremely expensive vacations that we save up a long time for.

If closures and refurbishments are a dealbreaker then it may be best to visit during the ‘peak’ times of year when typically not as many of these closures are happening. We visit in usually August and December and it’s typically rare for us to experience many closures because we travel during what’s considered the busy season.

This is good strategy and takes advantage of the not-too-well-known fact that visiting DLR during peak season can actually be a smart move. When DLR is prepared for the crowds with longer hours, more staffing, rides running at full capacity, fewer/no refurbs, more entertainment, etc., the parks handle the crowds well and things run smoothly. The parks can actually feel more crowded during non-peak season when the hours are shorter, there is less staffing, rides are running at lower capacity, there are more refurbs, there is less entertainment, and there just aren't enough ways to spread out the crowds. We advise our friends to visit in July because the odds are good they'll get to see everything they want with good weather, longer hours, and the lower APs blocked.

Yes! Excited not to be killed by a boulder next time I ride this :P

Right? There's only one FL ride that ends in a questionable manner, and it's next door! :P We always throw up our hands as we're coming out back towards the stop point where you exit and we proclaim "THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!"

I’m so bummed this will be probably be closed when we take my 66 year old dad back to Disneyland for the first time since he was five.... he still remembers riding it as a small child, and was so looking forward to riding it with his grandchildren in late January.

However, I’m thrilled Snow White is getting the love she deserves and can’t wait for the new ride to open next year!!!!

If they are adding scenes, does that mean they are somehow making the ride longer? Or are they removing/reworking existing scenes to accommodate the new ones?

I kind of liked the abrupt ending. This may sound weird, but to me it's one of those things that makes Disneyland unique. As long as they don't change the ending to Mr. Toads, I think I can live with the changes to Snow White. There should be at least one attraction that makes you go "what the heck?"

From the two concept images Ive seen, it looks like the scene where the hag offers the holographic apple and the ending on the cliff are being replaced with Snow White’s resurrection kiss and her happily ever after ending.

I can only assume that more will be changed to fill in the story. I bet the trip through the queen’s castle, dungeon and forrest will be reworked to have a more dense story

I’m excited to see how this ends up. My nostalgic side is always sad to see aspects that have been there as long as I’ve been going to the park go away, but like Walt said, Disneyland will never be complete and positive improvements and plussing are always a good thing.

For anyone who might be sad about this, the Snow White closure is starting January 7th according to Disneyland.com. This affects our trip but to be honest I'm not all that devastated...

I have not ridden Snow White in years! The proposed changes sound interesting. I may be in the minority here but I would love to see Mr. Toad's changed up (not a fan of the ending)or better replaced (thinking Mary Poppins, Cinderella, some other classic Disney type ride).

How long was the refurb of Alice when it got an overhaul? I’m wondering if this is a couple months or half a year kind of update.

I'm so grateful this ride will reopen in May. I can't wait to ride this on our first trip to DL in July.
