Sorry I don't have the link but long story short, Snow White will be closing very soon for an extensive rehab. I know this may be stupid, but for a guy all excited about his 2nd trip to Disneyland, this is gut wrenching. Close anything else but anything in Fantasyland. I know I'm in the extreme minority but for me, those Fantasyland dark rides are the very heart and soul of Disneyland. Something the Magic Kingdom lacks. It's that collection of attractions that, to me, gives Disneyland that charm and magic not found in Orlando.

I was thrilled to ride it in April.

I've got to say though, for us, it was a total disappointment that the castle was being refurbished. That might have been our one-and-done trip for Disneyland, and may never see the castle.😞

They really did a nice job with Alice and to a lesser extent Peter Pan, so I’m excited to see Snow White get some upgrades. Hopefully they follow suit and upgrade Toad and Pinocchio at some point as well.

I second this. IMO, Alice is the best darkride in FL right now, and a big part of that is due to the upgrades it got.

Any positive improvements to these attractions are worthwhile to me.

I'm not against it being down and plussed. I'm just being completely selfish and unreasonable venting how disappointed I am that I won't get to ride it in April. So much that to make up for it, I think we're going to go to Knotts Berry Farm for 1 day to experience their dark ride.

It's not unreasonable and I get what you feel. Certain rides just encapsulate the Disneyland experience and become a tradition. We've gone when POTC was down and we felt the loss. Still great but for that little shadow of incompleteness.

Are they going to close it before the holidays???? My kids will be crushed- it’s their favorite. But I’m so glad they’re giving Snow White the love she deserves!!!

I wonder if they're going to refurb it to be more like the Tokyo Disneyland version, which we rode last year and felt like it was "plussed" version of the original.

Almost certainly not. Unless there was a major safety or mechanical issue (and rumors don't seem to indicate this is either of those) they wouldn't start a refurb during the holiday season. Jan/Feb/even Mar, all bets are off- that's peak refurb season.

Yeah those dark rides are my daughters favorites too (always have been, since she was 3 and now that she is 15), especially Snow White as she is simpatico with the Evil Queen, ha ha ha. She once did the "Which Disney Character Are you?" in the Beast's Library and got Evil Queen, she was over the moon :) so yeah, she loves that ride. Anyway, glad they are doing some updates, I am sure they won't stray from the original. She will be sad to miss it this trip for sure though (assuming it is closed when we go). :) Thanks for the info.

I know and I just realized we are going to Disneyland in January and taking my parents..... my dad rode Snow White in 1956 and remembers it vividly. He was 3. We were so looking forward to riding it with him and my kids. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they won’t start until February, but I’m not holding my breath.

Just remember that right now all we have is Disney blogs and rumor mills on overdrive based on some permits filed with the city. We don't have any info on when the actual refurb is planned. They may hold off on starting projects until at least a couple weeks after ROTR opens in mid January (or maybe not given how they misjudged crowds for SWGE in general) but who knows?

Exactly. Until Disney releases official information about this refurb (and the site that reported this is hardly an "official" channel), there is no point getting hysterical about this or generating more rumors based on other people's rumors. It's best to just stay calm until Disney makes their official announcement.

Here's an article by the OC Register where Disneyland confirms the refurbishment.

I wonder if they will try to give the attraction a proper ending scene.
