Can anyone tell me exactly how scary Snow White's Scary Adventures is? Would it be okay for two 6 year olds (i'm not worried about the other kids)? Any opinions would be great.

It's dark and seems to focus a lot on the witch and not much on Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. My DS5 didn't like it. My DD1 was scared - kind of ruined her for inside rides for the rest of the day.

I was about 5 when I saw the movie Snow White, and I spent much of the movie under the seat in the theater. I get flashbacks to that time when I go on the ride, I think it would have been too scary for me when I was 6.

Bobbi :)

The WDW version of Snow White's Adventures was modified to make it less scary (and the word scary was added to help parent know that it really was, actually, still a good bit scary). The Disneyland version remains generally the same as original.

In the original attraction, you were supposed to be Snow White, going through the adventure. The witch offers you the apple, you wind your way through the forest, etc. That's why Snow White didn't really appear in it.

To less "scarify" it, Snow White was actually added to the attraction in several places. But, still, many scenes are dark, loud and a bit ominous.

That said, I'll play the somewhat broken record titled "All Kids are Different." Our daughter never had a problem with Snow White. She began experiencing a few months before her second birthday. But, she got aclimated to Disney attractions early and often and seemed to be able to begin drawing at least a faint line between "reality" and "fantasy" at an early age. Not so much as to ruin the Magic, but enough not to be overly scared when it wasn't necessary.

But, indeed, many youngsters are scared out of their wits by the attraction.

unless you don't want to be spoiled in any way, youtube.com is a good video site to look up video of Disney rides (it's free).

i've looked it up for you and you can see this video of snow white right here: Scary Snow White Ride . it's the one at Disney Land Paris, but if you compare it to the one at Walt Disney World it's exactly the same thing. i don't think i've noticed any difference beside that the one at WDW doesn't seem to go that fast. ::MinnieMo

My aunt and uncle took my cousin (then 2 1/2 years old) on Snow White because she loves the movie....she loved the ride! It didn't scare her at all....my aunt told her it wasn't real before she got on, so that probably helped!

My kids have never been afraid of it and they were 2 & 6 when we first went on. I will say though that they both really got that everything was pretend and safe so they weren't afraid of much.

My dh and I had ridden the ride ourselves before children, we knew that they would be a little frightened about the ride the first time. When we get on the scary rides including the Haunted Mansion we don't make a big deal about it. We laugh and make it fun so that they don't focus on the scary parts. We also know when things are coming up and we tell them about it before they see it themselves. My children have never come off of a ride frightened yet.

It is so not scary, IMO. My kids have been going on it since they were 2.

It never bothered any of my kids from 2 1/2 on as my DD said " how scary can a flat painted cardboard (her perception)witch be?"

Depends on how you define "scared". If scared equals clawing to get out of the car, then no. If scared means a bit wide-eyed then maybe.

All three of our kids have ridden the ride from 2 years on up. Last year my DD5 went on it and while she was white-knuckling the car during the ride, she really liked it and talked about it for hours.

With 6 year olds I'd be very surprised if they were frightened. Maybe apprehensive is a better word.

Snow White's Apprehensive Adventures? :rotfl:

DS6 LOVED it - one of his favorites - along w/ Space Mtn - strange combo. DD4 was too scared and didn't like any of those type rides - Peter Pan, Pooh, etc...

Here is the link to the one at WDW. It is much clearer to view.

My kids weren't really scared by it, but it wasn't that amusing either. Both of mine got off the ride and said, is that all? LOL
