It really does depend on the vehicle. My Saturn SC2 has performance radials and, although they perform well on wet and dry pavement, I have a hard time keeping the car from slipping off the road when we get a lot of snow. I need something to churn through the piles of snow that seem to accumulate on the side streets.
I suppose that it is not fair to compare performance radials to all-season radials, and that may be the root cause of my difficulties in snow. But I swear by my Blizzaks.

And Sam's will put them on for free and then change em out again in the Spring for free so it was no big deal.
