Snow Globes and flying

Okay, this is kind of a random question but maybe someone here can help. My daughter collects Disney snowglobes - the small size ones - and has one from every Disney trip or cruise we've been on. We never fly, but this summer we are going to Disneyland so we are flying.

I know you can't carry snowglobes on the plane, so my question is how to get one home?? Will Disney ship things, do I wrap it up really well and mail it home or do I take a chance on putting it in checked luggage? She will be sad if she can't get a snowglobe from our first Disneyland trip! Has anyone had any luck getting one home in the mail or in checked luggage?

We have brought many home in our luggage. Tho I never agreed with my mom for doing it, none of them have ever come back broken. Also you are allowed carry ons when you gong back home. I have carried fragile items from Disneyland as a carry on, on my flights.
I've felt much better that way

Snow Globes are not allowed in carry-ons because there is more than 3 oz of liquid.

I always buy myself a snowglobe at Disneyland and bring it home in my checked baggage, all the way to Virginia. Each and every one has made it here safely. They wrap them up really well and then I usually wrap some clothes around them and put them in the center of my suitcase, in my mind they are cushioned that way. One time, last minute, I bought an adorable Pooh snowglobe for one of my grandsons and without thinking put it in my purse. That did not go over well at LAX and they made me toss it! Luckily it was just a small one, not worth a lot of money, so I didn't want to go to the trouble of having them go look for my luggage and putting it in there and then going back through security again.

i pay to have any breakables shipped from Disney

have shipped snowglobes in past just for convenience sake

Arrabis gave me no problems with pricey crystal piece that came broken, promptly shipped out another & prepaid box to return the broken one

shipping always seems to be in area of $10 or so, no matter what the weight is, i think of it as well-worth it insurance

Thanks for the replies. Will they ship them from the store you purchase from, or would I have to take it somewhere else? I wonder if shipping it would be the best option. Otherwise, I guess we'll just wrap it really well and put it in the luggage!

Last year I decided to bring an Eeyore Christmas ornament home for my mom.

I mentioned to the nice CMs in World of Disney that I'd be flying. They wrapped the thing up so well, the whole package had about the size of a small watermelon.

I ran out of room in my carry on and had to put the ornament in my checked luggage. The inevitable happened: I missed my connection flight and AA somehow didn't get my luggage to me. So the suitcase spent almost a day on the luggage carousel in Dallas or wherever they store luggage in that case.

I was sure the ornament would be broken when I unwrapped it at home. But it didn't even have a scratch.
