Snorkeling questions re: Stingray City

I do not have very much experience with fins and the like. I am not afraid of the rays, but I am afraid that my inexperience and clumsiness with the flippers will cause a problem. I do NOT want to step on a ray--not just because it would be painful for me to be stung, but the poor little rays don't need me tromping on them--even if it is by accident--I would feel just awful.

Someone please reassure me--or tell me I need to stay on the ship, if you think so... (sniff)

You will not be wearing fins. The rules are bare feet only. You can use your mask/snorkel, though. Read the article on the above thread - it will help ease your mind. Stingray City is really a place not to be missed - I hope you go (in the water, that is).::yes::
