We're leaving for our first cruise this weekend and had a question about the snorkeling excursion in Nassau. I want to take my camera on the sailboat with me, but I'm concerned about it not being safe when I'm in the water. Has anyone had any experience with this excursion and is there anywhere to put your stuff on the boat? Will it be safe? :sunny:

We didn't take the excursion at Nassau but we did in Cozumel. We left all our stuff on the beach hoping the excursion company watched over it. They must have because all was well. I did leave my credit card in the safe in the room but had my digital camera. We were told they had lockers we could rent but when I asked if our stuff would be safe the young girl said yes it would but some people just like the extra protection. I guess the best is bring the least amount possible.

We have been on many snorkeling trips in the Florida Keys,Mexico and the Bahamas. Your camera should be safe on the boat. Make sure you bring a Ziploc bag (maybe two) to keep it dry. We have had good luck with the disposable underwater cameras which also take good pictures on land! Good luck and enjoy! :fish: :fish:

We were on the Magic January '04 and did the Stingray City excursion. I bought two disposable Fuji underwater cameras and the pictures were gorgeous! No one can believe the quality of them and that were not a "real" 35mm camera. IMHO, take a couple of those instead so you don't have to worry about your expensive one.
