has anyone out there snorkeled at both beaches at Castaway Cay? If so did you have a preference? I have been to the family beach, and will have a chance to go to the adult beach when i use the $99 voucher. Is it better, worse or the same at the adult beach?

I bet you can tell by the past few posts i have done that i am very into snorkeling, and want to go where the best snorkeling is to be had.

I would like to try the adult only beach, since this opportunity probably won't happen again, but not if the snorkeling is not as good as the snorkeling lagoon.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I just posted some photos of the "wreck" at the adult beach on one of web pages. I did it in a hurry so there are some lines on the photos. It should give you an idea of what to expect. The water here is about 10 feet deep if I remember right.
Please keep in mind that my site , just like me, is a work in progress.
Hope it helps,
Russ

My hubby also has photos of both snorkeling areas on our website at www.castawayclub.com
The wreckage at the adult beach is pretty much in line with the first massage cabana. The water ranges from deep to very shallow, depending on the tide, which goes out as the day progresses.
Your best best is to do the family beach first, before all the sand gets kicked up, and then head out to the adult beach, which pretty much stays peaceful all day.

I think i will probably go with the family beach in the morning before sand gets stirred up, and then head over to the adult beach for the afternoon.

Russ your site is very nice. Barb, as always yours is chock full of info.

Thanx!

If you are a diver or an experienced snorkeler, I'd lower your expectations for what to expect at CC. Nor reef, very limited fish life and those you will see are very generic.

I understand that, but was debating on which beach would have the best snorkeling based on what is offered.

thanx!
