Snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas

Hi, friends. We are sailing on the Fantasy in August on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary and want to do a snorkeling excursion in St Thomas. We are good swimmers and not prone to sea sickness. We are currently booked on the Castaway Catamaran Sail & Snorkel to Shipwreck Island but the doubloon turtle cove sail & snorkel looks pretty good too. I can only find short reviews of either that are mixed (as expected) and some are from a really long time ago. Could someone please help me out with some advice?

We always take the excursion to St. John (Trunk Bay). Very good snorkeling there and the beach is divine. Plus, it is inside a national park, so no beach vendors to hassle you.

We did the "sea safari" excursion in StT and it was awesome. What made it special for us was the captain (can't remember his name sadly) and his crew. They were a lively, fun crew that made the 4 hours real fun. They take you to turtle cove and honeymoon beach which I loved. Only downside to it is that its too short. you only spend about an hour at the beach. But I totally recommend.

That’s great advice. Maybe I should look more closely at the St. John excursion. I heard it was very crowded.
