Snorkeling at Castaway Cay Question

We are thinking about bringing our own snorkel equipment this trip to Castaway Cay to save some money. I remember from our last cruise when we rented from Disney that we had lifejackets we had to wear. do we need to bring lifejackets too or can we borrow some from Disney?

You must use the Disney-supplied life vests. They are inflatable and bright yellow. You don't have to inflate them, but you must wear them so you are visible in the water.

No. At least not that I've every read/heard.

I was just at CC over a week ago and no the life jackets are free.

Usually they are just thrown in a big bin near the beach. We always bring our own stuff because they don't have size 14 fins and I prefer my own snorkel.

It doenst have to be a Disney supplied vest. You can bring one of your own. We have 1 for each member of our family and I know at least 1 other family that has there own and weve never had issues with DCL saying you cant use your own.

Just off the Fantasy. We had our own set of mask and snorkel and had to get one of the vests from Disney.

We didn't need a vest at Serenity, but did on the family beach. We had to go to the snorkel rental station and the vest was free to rent.
