Is there a fee for snorkeling equipment at BL or is it included?
Also,......When you wear water shoes across the coral at BL do you the put fins over them or leave water shoes on a rock?

I think you could rent snorkeling equipment there, but we took our own. Unfortunately ALL 4 of the snorkeling areas were closed, we were not even allowed to walk on the rocks in the tide pools on April 19, 2004. You could only snorkel in the 2 foot deep man-made lagoon, but there was only sand and some shells to look at. Hope you have a different experience.

On a previous trip, I took off my water shoes on land and just wore the fins into the water.

We also took our own equipment, but you can rent once you get there. At that time (2 years ago), we had to rent life vests which they told us were required. I don't know if that has changed or not. The vests were $5.

As for shoes, dh walked in barefeet and then put on his fins. Not me!!! I put on my fins and walked (if you could call it that!) out to the snorkeling. On my 2nd trip out, I just wore my water shoes and left the fins with our stuff.

Have fun! Lorie
