Snorkel Equipment Question on Castaway Cay

Is it necessary to reserve snorkel equipment in advance on Castaway Cay? What are the chances that equipment would be available if we decided to do it at the last minute? I am traveling with 15 people (7 of which are kids) and I'm not sure who would like to snorkel. I have a feeling some of the kids may not decide until they see Castaway Cay. We're also doing a Double Dip so I'm not sure if anyone would want to snorkel both days. I would hate to pay for it and then have the equipment go unused. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know how strict they are on the 5 year old age limit? I have a 4 year old who would probably love to snorkel but I've been afraid to book in case they say she has to be 5?

You may want to consider just purchasing a snorkel set for her. That will allow you to make sure everything fits well. If a pool is available to you, you might have her practice there before trying to snorkel in the ocean. Please also be aware that the snorkel area is large and the underwater statues and most fish are pretty far from the shore. It may be more swimming than the average 4 year old is ready to do.

Great advice! Thanks so much for the helpful info. We may just purchase snorkel gear for her but if its far out I doubt it would be worth it. Guess we will settle for sand and play time!
