Just when I thought it was all locked down.

I am a bit disappointed that PDD as a whole won't be there. Congrats to Ben for making ht emain cast though and I know the guys will still work together on outside projects, but their videos have been the best things on SNL for a few years now.

I really don't tune in to see specific cast members. I look for well written sketches that are well performed. Given the wealth of material available during the 50th season, they kind of went for the low lying fruit. Not a lot of effort in the scripts or performances. Hope that changes in season 51.

I'm not that excited about the new season. I love Bowen and Kenan so I will probably still watch, but only the next day and probably not all of the sketches. There are still very talented cast members like Chloe and Austin. Its always interesting to see how they take on current events. I will miss Ego!

Won’t be watching unfortunately. NBC is owned by a parent company that killed an innocent man in Kissimmee on one of the rides at their theme park. Until the family has justice, no Universal ANYTHING for me. I’ll only listen to Sunday Night Football on the radio too.

I haven't laughed at SNL in a very long time. They used to be a jumping off for megastars like Julia Luis-Drefus, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Madeline Khan, Chris Rick, Kristen Wig, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Dennis Miller, Tiny Fey but I haven't seen SNL discover a break away funny person that made hilarious movies or TV in ages.

I don't know that I'd call several on your list "megastars." I mean, Eddie Murphy, sure. Maybe Chevy, Rock, and Ferrell (and some that you didn't name - Sandler for one). Many have had decent careers for sure though. Some recent folks have too. O mean, Pete Davidson and Leslie Jones are pretty successful - not megastars of course, but most never really reach that status.

The season opener was decent, but not amazing. Pretty funny cold-open and update was fun. I know nothing about Doja Cat, but she apparently sampled the Knight Rider theme in one of her songs.

Last nights show was very forgettable. I’m beginning to think it might be time to call it done. Except for a few weekend update stories there’s no edge, laughs are few & far between.

Don’t forget that none of them were stars from day one. Maybe one of the new cast members just needs a few seasons to have their breakout moment.

I didn't think it was too bad, I've seen a lot worse season openers than that one. I thought the cold-open was funny and most of weekend update. I laughed out loud at the K-Pop Demon Hunters one because it was so weird. I never watch it on Saturdays because I go to bed before it comes on, but I'll watch it a day or two later when I can fast forward through the commercials.
