Sniper has struck again (Monday night)

Obi-Wan, I agree with you -- I keep thinking terrorism. I’m no expert, but this just doesn’t seem like the MO of a serial killer to me. I don’t think they’d be shooting people from long range. Obviously this person has lots of training. And if it’s two people as they suspect, could two people that sick really find each other and agree to do this? Anyway, that location is a few miles from my home. As I was hearing the helicopters on TV I could also hear them out my window. I just feel nauseated all the time now. And I pray that he doesn’t decide to start shooting into cars or homes.

I'm thinking terrorism, too and I just heard about that tarot card with the meaning "I am God" that they found. It's interesting that Michael is the patron saint of the police but I don't think that the terrorists would be likely to know that.

It makes those sought after window offices alot less appealing. I assure you my blinds are down all day long.

This is so scary! I have to keep calling my relatives every day, that live in the surrounding area to make sure that they are okay!

It's disgusting to think of all the pathological personalities out there that own weapons. Hopefully he has left enough clues that they will catch him soon.

Obviously this guy has no qualms about pulling the trigger. He's demonstrated that atleast what, 11 times? I hope that through some type of record of sale of the gun, or some paper trail, or witness, that he's caught soon.

Well, it's official (not that there was ever any doubt in my mind) that the person who shot last night was the same sniper.

The victim's name was Linda Franklin and she was 47 years old.

A good friend of mine is a veterinarian and they were clients of his. Says they were wonderful people. I hear they just bought a new house and they were at Home Depot buying things to fix up the house.

I agree with EROS also. And let's not forget, we don't know for certain what type of gun this nutcase is using.

As for a terrorism link, something did come to my mind while watching TV coverage last night of the road shutdowns.

What has happened immediately after the last two shootings? Police have swarmed to the area, and focused (rightly) on the scene and on stopping traffic.

Perhaps this is just my over-military mind going to work, but I can see a terrorist process that would get police in the habit of responding this way, and leaving vulnerable buildings or businesses open to a truck or car bomb attack.

Obviously to be successful with such a plan, the killer would have to move closer to DC and other areas with concentrations of federal buildings, but it is just a thought that is going through my head.

Disneyispi is right about the side roads. There are so many little side roads in each of the areas that the sniper has hit. He also has the advantage of surprise. He only needs a couple of minutes to take off.
I'm wondering if the Michaels connection means anything at all or if it is just a coincidence. Michaels happens to locate its stores near the intersections of moajor highways with easy access. That may be the only connection.
Noon news is now saying that plice are working on a composite drawing of the suspect. Some of Monday's witnesses actually saw the sniper. I hope they catch him soon. The news showed the Home Depot parking lot last night. There were six white vans with ladder racks parked in the deck the day after the shooting. I feel bad for all of the hard working labors in the area who happen to drive a vehicle that resembles the ones the police are looking for.
