My youngest (3 yr. old) loves the Sneetches!!! They live on the beach and there are Sneetches with stars on their bellies and some without stars on thars. The two groups don't mix because the Sneetches with stars feel superior. Along comes Sylvester McMonkey McBean (love that name) with a machine that will add stars and then take them off too. The end of the story teaches a lesson (much like most Andy Griffith shows) about how all of the Sneetches are the same regardless of their belly stars and that they can get along and that the Sneetches can share the beaches. :)

After the story I become Mama Sneetches and my youngest becomes Jr. Sneetches. Two thumbs up for a nightly reader. :)

Then you MUST go to Universal Islands of Adventure and go to Suess Landing. They have a great ride that tells this story and lots of other cool rides. I fell in love with it last month, and I'm a grown up - at least that's what they tell me.

The star bellied Sneeches are the best on the beaches!

This is my favorite of Dr Seuss' books.

Weren't there Sneetches in Harry Potter somewhere too?

The reason I ask is because I am a big Dark Tower series (by Stephen King) fan, and I know he is a big JK Rowling fan. He is such a big fan that he included many references to the Harry Potter series in his Dark Tower series, specifically the later books like Wolves of the Calla, where, if I remember correctly, the Sneetches appear. Anywho, I always assumed Sneetches were from Harry Potter. Anyone know?

I'm not sure about sneetches (two stars are better by far)...but Harry Potter has 'snitch(es)' the flying golden ball used during a quidditch.

SNEETCHES!!!!!!

You know, i have this cute stuffed Sneetch (yes, I hunted it myself ;) )
Actually, he came from Macy's a couple Christmases ago. I don't know if ebay might have one, they were cheap (one of those charity ones) but really good quality! It's an adorable Sneetch!

Ok... that must be what I am thinking about. I probably have the spelling wrong, but what you described is very similar to what is Wolves of the Calla.
