Believe me, I'd much rather wear nice dress sandals! However, on our first day we are arriving in the afternoon and in anticipation of our room not being ready we are heading to DTD for some shopping and have a 6:10 PM reservation at CG. And so we will still be in our traveling (comfortable) shoes. (And I'm not sure when ME will get our bags to us in any case.) Is this acceptable?

We ate at the California Grill last summer, honestly tell you, I didn't think the restaurant really care what their guests wore. I have seen many "gentlemen" with baseball caps and tee-shirts. We, on the other hand, decked our casual weekend clothing and felt a bit over-dressed. As long as you are not wearing your swimsuit cover-ups or really ripped-up tees, you will be fined. Sometimes it is not what you wear matters that much, a person who smells really bad with nice clothes on, shall be deemed inappropriate too.

I have worn nice flip flops with dressy capris and was overdressed compared to most diners.

I would say thong sandals are fine if they're not worn with swimwear.

We had dinner at Narcoossee's booked for our arrival night. We packed our change of clothes in our carry on bag. It was nice to get the "road" dirt off before dinner. I wore some light weight slacks and Birkenstock type sandals and a simple top, nothing fancy, just a bit nicer than I'd wear to the parks. Nephew(6yo) had his short sleeved buttondown, khaki shorts and "white" Allen Iverson sneakers. He was very excited for our special dinner and had his outfit all ready to go.

FYI - ME did drop off our bags in plenty of time for dinner anyway.

V& A requires men to dress in shirt & tie & jacket. Women in a nice clothing. I would think flip flops would be okay in the other resturants not the signature places. MHO

I have worn flip flops, jeans, and a polo shirt at CG. Granted this was not by design, we happened to walk up and they had a table available, but they seated us just fine nonetheless...... Enjoy!
