Greetings,
Was at California Adventure yesterday suprised to find a sign announcing a Sneak Peek of the new Monsters Inc. Ride: Mike and Sully Save the Day. After a 30 minute wait in line we boarded a taxi to take tour of Monstropolis. The ride was pretty cool as far a dark rides go, in fact I was pleasently surprised. My boys, 4 & 2 loved it. If your are interested in some stuff about the ride including spoilers, I'll answer questions in this post, otherwise I'll just let you know that Disney says the ride will open January 2006.

They previewed both Monster and E:E during the parade. The coaster looks like it is going to be a MUST ride in April. Monster's reminded me of Pooh with better ride vehicles.

I agree! Both looked real cool. I can not wait to ride E:E!

Does anyone know if Disney has any intention of bringing this or another Monster's Inc. ride to Walt Disney World at some point? This is one of my favorite Disney movies but I can't see myself getting to CA anytime soon.

I went on it Saturday. I don't know, it was nice enough, but nothing fancy to the ride vehicles. not as good as pooh in WDW.

Heck, the screens and stuff were just there from that offense known as superstar limo, so the ride vehicles were just leftovers.
The figures and the Roz animatronic were good, but this is no E-ticket.

Right, never said it was supposed to be. Just making sure everyone understands that it's nothing exciting in any way shape or form. It's a step up from a meet and greet and that's about it.

Really, I actually think its one of the better "C" ticket rides I've been on. Overall better than all the WDW Fantasy dark rides, IMHO. Right up there with Roger Rabbit in Toon Town at MK.

Spoiler alert:

WIth Rozz interaction, multiple opening door scenes for rerideability, disappearing and color changing Randall, helecopter scene, the moving doors scene, real smells(in restuarant), the bathroom scene, voices of original characters, etc., it gets an "A+" for "C" rides. The only real negative was the outside portion of the que.

Yeah, see, I didn't catch half of that. I'd rate Peter Pan over it and that thing's 50 years old.

Gives you a reason to go back.

Peter Pan's biggest flaw is also one if its greatest selling points, flying in the air. Its great for adults, who can see over the side of the car and everything down below. For young kids, not so good. Kids under 50" tall(2-9 crowd) have difficulty seeing everything that is going on due to the design of the ride vehicles. This same major flaw cropped up at Pooh at DL with the seats sunk at a level that makes it difficult to see over the sides of the vehicles.

I'm glad you didn't write real smells in the bathroom scene. :rotfl2:

I went back and added the quotes because I thought the same thing. :)
