We are on the deluxe dining plan, but would still like to have a few easy in room breakfasts before heading out each day. I am going to either pack a suitcase of food, or ship myself a box (both great ideas that I got from these boards). Any good suggestions on what would work well, food and snack wise?

Seriously, the deluxe plan is a TON of food - are you going to really want more snacks in your room? Bring plastic bags for your leftovers and use that for your midnight snack. Granola bars, individual boxes of cereal, string cheese, fruit snacks, and your favorite powdered drink mix for your bottled water. How old is everyone in your party?

It is just me, dh, and our 5 year old son. I am so clueless on this whole thing, and want to make sure I have everything I need when I'm there.

Teddy Graham Crackers have come out with some cute Disney cookies. My DD 3 loves the Princess ones so maybe your DS will enjoy the Cars ones. Keebler also has some bug shaped ones. They make a good snack for my little one. popcorn::

I just thought I'd offer some advice.

On the delux dining plan you get 2 snacks per day. In most food courts you can use a snack credit for things like cereal, oatmeal, toast, a side of bacon, a piece of fruit, or a bagel. If you are light breakfast eaters, that's all you need. You also get 3 counter service or sit down meals a day, so if you're hungrier than that, you can get a full breakfast somewhere. I wouldn't bring/send any snacks on the deluxe plan..I think you'll be fine.

If you think you do want/need something else we bring a box of pop-tarts and a box of little debbie powdered donuts for a quick breakfast. For snacks we bring trail mix, raw almonds or other nuts, candy (skittles or M&Ms) and maybe some 100 calorie packs or other individually sized packs of cookies/chips. To be honest though, we ended up bringing most or all of it home, with the exception of the breakfast stuff which we did eat as we were not on the deluxe plan.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the advice. I feel so overwhelmed by all these details. We have never taken a real vacation- i.e. one that does not include a relative's guest room- so I want to make sure that I am well prepared to have a great time.

I have packed snacks in the past but then I end up wanting to only eat all the cute Disney World snacks like Mickey shaped rice crispy treats and popcorn in the parks. I end up taking most of the snacks back home. Now I have learned my lesson and I just take enough in my carry on bag to tide us over - a granola bar or two and maybe some Chex mix. I try to avoid chocolate since it tends to melt! :)

You'll have a fabulous time, and try to squeeze in a few rides in between all the eating ;) :lmao:

What you might want to do is ship some water. Both Costco and Staples ship it.

I always take the Nature Valley Honey 'n Oats granola bars and a box of the little Ritz Bits peanut butter and crackers.

I always bring those peanut butter sandwich crackers. It's always good to pop a little protein at any time of the day to give you a boost. I put one packet in my sunglass case and it keeps them safe all day if needed.
