I forgot the Muppets DVD was coming out, I can't wait to see it.

You should try and watch some of the other HP movies if you get the chance, then you'll be able to fully appreciate the theming of WWOHP. I've been twice now and it is fantastic. We aren't going to Universal at all this year due to us going on the cruise which I'm a little sad about!

Hi! Hope you get to see the Muppets movie soon ... DH's sister has the box set of Harry Potter movies so I might ask her if we can borrow them... I lent her 'Tangled' the other week and she loved it!

i would defintely recommend watching a few more of the HP movies before you go! The first few are just kids' movies, INMO, but the 4th-7th are great! Then again, I am biased because I am a huge fan of the books. =)

Hi! I will try to see some more of them, I read in the Unofficial Guide book that the attraction is mostly based on the first movie and the fourth? But I guess we should really watch all seven!
It's not that I don't like HP I just never really got into the books and then movies when everyone else did hehe

Man, August is coming quick!

So i'm guessing you'd recommend that book on Walt? I haven't read any books pertaining to him and his life, but would love to read it. Perhaps i'll check it out from my library.

Yes the Bob Thomas biography is really good - I wrote my final year paper at university on 'inspirational leadership', so of course my main topic was Walt! - I read a lot of books on him and the company as research.. and IMO that biography is the most balanced, the author actually met Walt and interviewed him several times.. it's written like a story but with lots of research to back it up I still find it incredible that one man started something that so many millions of people still love, nearly 100 years later!

Hi everyone,

So I just decided to phone Disney again about the Wishes dessert party in August, and the Wild Africa Trek in October.... and..... both were available to booK!!


I have booked the dessert party for our third night in August (hoping we'll all be a little more adusted to the time zone and enjoy an evening at Magic Kingdom )

And I've booked the Wild Africa Trek for October 13th... birthday gift to myself! ... I went for the 8am tour, they are every 45 minutes after that, but I really like the idea of being on the first tour of the day and hopefully the animals will be quite active then, before it gets too warm

Sooo excited to have both of these booked.. not very much left to plan now for either trip this year

Hi everyone, I can't believe how quickly June is flying by.. we're under 7 weeks until August trip now!

This week I was able to book two rounds of golf for DH, DFiL and DSiL's fiance - they are playing Lake Buena Vista and Osprey Ridge... originally I booked Magnolia, but a warning message came up on the screen that the course was going to be 'aerified' from August 13th-26th so play may be 'slow and bumpy'... so they decided on Osprey Ridge instead! That was the one course they didn't play last time, so should be fun for them to see another golf course. On the mornings they are playing golf, the girls in our group will probably go to Downtown Disney shopping or spend some extra time in the Magic Kingdom


And... one year today.....

We'll be onboard the Disney Fantasy!!!
I was looking today at the DCL website and daydreaming about our shore excursions... we'll have stops at Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel - as well as a day at Castaway Cay Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi! I was so pleased to get the dessert party and Trek booked... the dessert party was sold out 3 days later when I checked too!

I've been day-dreaming a lot about the cruise the last few days! We just paid off half of the balance too - 'celebrate' being less than a year away hehe

Yup I was surprised that the dessert party dates were released relatively late compared to ADRs.. maybe it's just me being used to booking Disney dining 180 days before hehe - isn't Disneyland more like 60 days?

The last few days I've kept saying "This time last year we were... getting on board, at Castaway Cay, at Nassau.... at Remy...." crazy it was already a year ago




I had some exciting post today... Photopass Plus package!!

It contains a voucher for me to exchange once we get to WDW for the PP+ card and lanyard, plus a cd of hundreds of stock photos of the parks!
To pick up the card, I'm going to go to the camera shop at Animal Kingdom after our breakfast at Tusker House (first morning) - that will probably mean missing the first ride of the day with the family - but once I've picked the card up, we can add all of our Expedition Everest & Dinosaur photos to it, as well as the Tusker House photo package and any normal PP pictures we have taken during the day! I'm interested to see how this PP+ works out, I think it'll be fun to have all of our ride photos, can't remember the last time we bought one of those.

For ride photos are you going to have everyone give you their picture numbers and go back and get them added? I'm curious how all that will work out for you. That's the one thing I think will be the most challenging.

Hi! If you want to, you can upgrade to Photo Pass + before you get to WDW and it's $30 less That's what I've done, I phoned Photopass to make sure it was ok - the cast member changed the pre-order CD in my basket to a credit to put against the PP+

I'm interested to see how the ride photos work with it - we'll probably stay together as a group in the parks, so after each ride if anyone wants the photo - I guess I'll just hand over the PP+ card at the desk, and the photos will be added to our account...

Now with Paxton, it's not much of a deal for us since we have to ride almost all of the attractions with a photo by ourselves. I don't really need ride photos with just me or DH in them! DH and I went shopping today and pretty much finished our clothes shopping for the vacation

I've been reading a book about the making of Animal Kingdom recently - it's good to read while DH is watching all the Euro Cup football

I made a start on some designing and printing for August trip too...

These are some gratuity envelopes...

And invitations for DFiL and DMiL for the surprises we've booked - going to give these to them the night before we leave for Florida

Hi Tanz, yup the AK book is really interesting... lots of great photos of the concepts the imagineers first had. It's made me appreciate how amazing that park is - particularly the Tree of Life, can't wait to see it again next month!

Hi! Hope that you get your PP+ pre-order done this week! I was so glad to find out it was available as a pre-order, otherwise I would have had another thing to sort out on our first morning at the parks, whereas now I just need to go pick up the card & lanyard The cd of WDW images they send you is amazing too! I've just uploaded them onto my laptop, will have to double check the copyright on them but would love to share a few on here... beautiful photos... also they mailed it to the UK for no extra charge which was unexpected!

Thank you! I love doing these little projects before a trip I've got a gratuity envelope ready for our Wishes fireworks cruise, and a couple of spares... usually I make them for mouse-keeping but as we're staying offsite this trip we won't need those.
I'm so excited to give the surprise invitations to DH's parents, I'm not sure if they'll want to know more details right then, or whether they'll be happy to wait until the day to find out what we have planned

So this is a little off-topic, but I just finished a scrap book from our December 2010 trip to NYC and WDW !!
I love making scrapbooks but they always take me sooo long to complete - this one particularly as I had wedding planning and several exams afterwards that took up my free time!

But it's all done now, here's a few pictures..

Please how it turned out, nice to look through photos of that vacation again.. hard to remember just how cold it was in Florida too! Hoping to make a start on our honeymoon scrapbook soon

Love the scrapbooks. Wish I had the time and patience to do that! I tried getting into making them and have a wonderful one from our honeymoon in Paris. But I gave it up. I end up making digital books now. I do most of the design in photoshop which does give me some flexibility to add fun stuff. Do a lot of scanning and have lots of cute backgrounds (I often scan my scrapbook paper to use).

So jealous you get to go so soon! DS is dying to go back...he can't wait for October to get here.
