Snacks, Sips & Spooks in October 2012... and a Mexican Fantasy cruise in June 2013!

Hi Emma!

I'm actually glad you haven't updated much. Makes it easier for me to catch up. :lmao:

Very interesting to learn that things are more expensive at the AS resorts.

Sorry to hear about your niece. Hopes she bounces back quickly.

Ditto!! I was gone for a few weeks and am so far behind on a ton of reports... slowly getting caught up!!

Again love the newsletter Emma!! You do a great job on them!

How are there no dates available for the party in August? You started checking right away as soon as it was available right?

Also Emma, I know that you're busy, but I was wondering if you could give me some ideas on making my own newsletter/information brochure, since you're so creative. She'll be coming with us to WDW in December or January, and she's never been, and I don't think she realizes just how large to World is. I know a lot of your newsletters has to do with trivia, but she would have no idea about the answers, since she's never been. Do you have any ideas of what I could do or what kinds of information I should be giving her, just to give her an idea of what to expect? :goodvibes

I didn't know that about the All Star resorts- interesting!

I hope DN feels better soon! OUCH!

Good luck on your exams! :)

Thank you :goodvibes

Thanks both! I know what you mean about keeping up to date.. sometimes if I don't check my emails for a day or so, I'll have 10+ updates to read :thumbsup2 hehe

Just wanted to wish you good luck on your exams! :goodvibes

Thank you! First one this morning was fine - I found lots to write and timing was ok... one down, two to go! :goodvibes

Hi Lesha.. yeah Disney hasn't released dates for the dessert parties in August yet.. July only got confirmed a couple of weeks ago; when I've phoned WDW-DINE the CMs have said they can't see any dates in August yet, but to try again nearer the 90 day mark.. we're now at 79 :woohoo: so I'm sure the dates will appear soon! I'm pretty sure DH's family will enjoy the dessert party, it's a slightly off-center view of the fireworks but at least it ensures lots of space... and unlimited desserts! :cutie:

For the newsletters... maybe pick a park for each month, and put in a few photos, link to the park map and highlight the main/your favourite attractions? That's most of the text of mine.. I'm lucky that everyone in our group has been before, but the last time they went was three years ago, so some things have changed and they've forgotten a few things too I think :goodvibes
I've included 'useful links' in each edition, with things like All Ears, the Disney Parks Blog & Disney Food Blog.. there's so much information on the internet about Disney to help with the planning! :cloud9:

I guess you could also compare what's in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom? There's a statistic something like.. all of DLR would fit in the MK car park, might give her an idea just how big the 'World' is!

Back to the revision.. less than 48 hours to go now!

Okay gotcha! For some reason I thought that they had already sold out, even though it's been past the 90 day mark.

Great suggestions! I hope you don't mind me borrowing some of your format and trivia??

Hi Lesha.. yes of course! Let me know if you want me to email the newsletters to you :goodvibes - I first got the idea of newsletters from Courtney, Southerntinkerbelle, I think it's such a lovely idea when going on a trip with a bigger group/people who've not been to WDW before :wizard:

Hi! Thank you so much for that link to the dessert party thread.. I've subsribed to it so hopefully will find out asap when the August dessert parties are available :thumbsup2

So.... exams are all done!! :yay:
Thank you everyone for your good luck wishes.. this was a really big stage in my qualification so I really would like to pass these and carry on to the final stage - I graduated from university 5 years ago and still studying, can't wait for it to be over! :surfweb:

After my exam this morning, I went to the gym and ran for 30 mins while watching Tangled.. love that movie! Then I had an aromatherapy massage at the spa there, I've not had a massage since honeymoon and the therapist said I had really tense shoulders  .. I'll blame the exams!

And.. it's now 11 weeks until August vacation :cloud9:

Hi everyone,

So the other week I had a great idea for DH's birthday present this year..

If ever I ask him 'what would you like for your birthday?' - he'll jokingly say 'an Audi R8 car!' it's his dream car but no way we'd ever have one!

So... I found out a few months ago that the Richard Petty Driving Experience at WDW has added European cars - and... guess what that includes...

An Audi R8!!

The driving experience offers a training course & 6 laps driving in this car - and when I looked at the website they already had some dates and times sold out in October  .... so I've booked a place for DH!

I'm going to keep it a surprise until the day before we go on vacation in October - it's so hard though, I'm dying to tell him... I just know he's going to love it! And I'm excited to see another part of WDW :wizard:

What a great birthday gift! I'm sure he will LOVE the experience! DH has done the driving experience before but not at WDW and he had a great time doing it.

What a great surprise! I bet Steve is going to absolutely love it! I can't wait to here about his experience! :goodvibes

Oooh, awesome!

What a great birthday gift! I'm sure he will LOVE the experience! DH has done the driving experience before but not at WDW and he had a great time doing it.

What a nice surprise! I'm sure he's going to love it.

Thank you all! I was thinking about booking it for a few weeks before I actually did - I'm 99% sure he'll love it as a birthday gift! :goodvibes

The only scary part is the waiver form he has to sign.. promising not to damage the car, and if he has an accident it's not their fault  I'm sure it'll be fine but it's odd to have to sign something like that while at WDW! :cutie:

Hi DB!
I am just catching up with your PTR as I will be going the same time as you in the fall and am planning for a big group! Read through your PTR yesterday.

Love the R8 experience!! That will be so much fun. My DH got to do something like that when he picked up his BMW a few years ago. They took him our on a test track and he got to do a few laps with a driver (in his car and a 6 series) and then got to drive on the skid pad...he loved it! I wish Audi did the same around here. Would have been fun when I got my car. I suspect Porsche is getting ready to open something like it near us too so maybe one day I can send him out there for a birthday present!

You have some great things planned for your family. We are doing the Pirates and Pals cruise. With the size of our group its more than the private cruise but the snacks and characters will make up for it since we will have 6 kids for DS's birthday! :cool1:

I've ALWAYS wanted to do the RPDE! I'm so jealous right now. He's going to be insanely happy!
