I heard if you were flying and not having access to a grocery store, you could fix up a package ahead of time with all kind of goodies and send it to the resort you were going to stay at. I heard it would be waiting for you when you arrived. Is this true? Has anyone ever done this? If so, how do I go about doing this?

Thanks!!!

I did this before our trip to the Poly last October. I was travelling alone with my 2 and 4 year old sons and wanted to limit the amount of stuff I had to lug through the airport!

I shipped a box with diapers, wipes, ponchos, sunscreen, snacks etc. I sent it FedEx ground. It weighed like 15 lbs and only cost around $8 to ship from the Atlanta area to the Poly. I had checked online to see how long it would take and I shipped it so that it would arrive on Tuesday and I checked in on Thursady. That way I could check the tracking and make sure it arrived safe and sound before I left home.

When I checked in I just mentioned I had shipped a package and the CM went to get it for me. When I called to get the Poly's mailing address the CM who answered the phone gave me some great advice. She suggested I ship it either in a "product box" or do something "decorative" to my box so I could give the CM a description of the box to make it easier to find. I let my kids cover the box in Disney stickers before we shipped it. I was able to say "it's the brown box about this big that has the Disney stickers all over it" and the CM found it right away and thanked me for making my box "different and easy to find." :)

It worked out great for us to do it this way!

That is a really good idea! Has anyone ever shipped bottled water to their resort? Just wondering how much that would cost.

Depending how much bottled water you want, it could be expensive. A case of water is heavier than the TiVo I shipped to my brother and that cost more than $25 standard.

I wouldn't want to ship snacks either because you don't know what kind of temps they will be exposed to on the way down. I'd either stuff them in your suitcases or use one of the online grocery services for when you get there.

We went to WDW in Feb and we shipped crackers, cereal, sunscrean, anything we were not going to take home. You could also have your transportation stop at a store before you get to the hotel. We bought pop, water, milk and some more junk food at the store. I would recommend shipping things to the hotel! Have a great time! :flower:
