We have the regular Dining plan and watch our weight by doing moderation. My question is if you use your snack credits for things like fudge, pastries, and of course Goofy's candy shop stuff.. How do you get it home when flying?

My DH says that only applies to liquid and put it in the carry on. I'm thinking we'd have to pack it. We're planning on rationing out our "leftover" Disney goodies for a while.:goodvibes Well, if the children don't find and eat them, lol!

I thought you could bring unopened food through airport security, but anything opened would have to be consumed or discarded before going through the security area. But I'm not sure and I'd probably pack it in the checked luggage if it were me. Or mail it home via the post office if I bought a lot. LOL!

We fly home with 'leftover' snacks in our carryons all the time.
Your husband is correct - it's only liquids that are restricted. Pastry, candy, nuts, dried fruit, treats from Goofy's, these are all perfectly safe in your carryon - probably safer than if you packed them, where you have no control over the temperature/environment and may arrive home to open a suitcase full of melted chocolate or smashed pastries.

We are flying long distance and we just came back with a backpack full of snack credit items as a carry on. There were magic cookie bars, things from Goofy's and lollies, fudge and cookies. They didn't even blink!!
NO liquids in your carry on, but you can carry as many snacks as you can get in your carry on.

We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan last Sept and never used any of our snack credits. The last day we went down to Goofy's and had to spend 48 snack credits on fudge, decorated pretzel sticks, cookies, small snack pkgs, etc. One of just used the bag as our personal item and carried it on the plane, with no problem. My last several trips I've been on the DDP and have always brought my extra snacks back in the carry on. Just make sure none of them are liquid (i.e. sodas).

I was hoping that was the way it was. I did this last year and I was hoping it didn't change.. also, may I ask, how much fudge were you able to get for a snack credit? Thank you:)

I even managed to bring 3/4 of a chocolate cake home and some treats from Goofys in a bag as a carry on.

You can bring food in a carryon as long as it is not in liquid, cream or gel form.

:goodvibes That's a relief to know... I hadn't thought about the melting..yikes! Now DH can brag he was right and I was wrong:lmao:
