I know you can bring in water and prepackaged snacks because we've done it before, but do they care if you bring in Gatorade and Capri Sun's? I'm just thinking of the heat and the humidity and keeping my family hydrated. Wanting to have other options besides water. Thanks!

I believe the only drinks the screeners will reject are drinks in glass bottles or alcohol. We usually just carry water but on occasion have carried in juice or milk boxes and soda in aluminum cans or plastic bottles. I have seen people entering the parks carrying McDonald's, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and other off-site-branded drink cups.

Totally OK. Last trip we brought in sandwiches, snacks, assorted gatorades and juice boxes, and I was holding an iced caramel macchiato from starbucks on both days (so both parks) :)

No one said a word to me.

On a side note, if you're looking for a change from water, those little packets of drink mixes (hawaiian punch, crystal light, lipton, etc) are really convenient since they're so small and light.

Agree about the powder drink mixes -- so much easier to carry and you can get cold, filtered water at various locations for free and free ice water at many CS restaurants.

I was thinking about those too. They don't take up so much space either. I use them all the time and Mio. What I like about Capri Sun is that it's small and my DD's (6 & 4) can finish one. Also, I like to freeze them. My DS's (15 & 14) like Gatorade. Of course, they LOVE soda, but I try to limit it for several reasons. And I think we will all need the electrolites from Gatorade. We are from a dry climate and I'm planning on sweating a lot unfortunately!;)

I was actually at Walmart last night and saw that Gatorade has powdered packets now too! I didn't stop look at the box to see if it's the same product that comes bottled, but I'm sure it's similar.

Really? Well, I'll have to look at my Walmart. I've never noticed them, but I wasn't looking either. Thanks! :)

Just returned (thinking of going back this weekend to use up the remaining day and maybe add a 5th day) and we had zero issues bringing in a **reasonable** amount of snacks or beverages.

I'd note that a few things happened along that show they know people bring in stuff and there is no issue as long as you're reasonable about it. We spilled sodas in aluminum cans a few times. Once a manager-type CM noticed and told us not to worry about it - she'd have it cleaned up. A Ziploc bag of candy and other snacks popped out of my bag as we were trying to board the Haunted Mansion "car" and a CM came by, quickly swooped it up, and dropped it on my lap before reaching the end of the walkway.

They do have an official policy that outside food and beverages aren't allowed and even say that the picnic areas on the plaza are for outside food. In reality I haven't seen anything that suggests it's true other than reports that people having actual picnics were told they couldn't do it.

I brought in camelbaks with water and then in my backpack snacks (goldfish, trail mix, rice krispie treats) mio, kool aid packets and juice. No one said a word to me. The gatorade packets are expensive compared to the liquid but it is the same stuff, I've tried them before. And sometimes it's worth paying so you don't have to cart around the bottles. If you don't mind splenda products, mio makes 2 flavors with electrolytes in them.

I was shocked to see a wagon full of stuff in the park one day and many people taking in large amounts of stuff. So while they say no, it didn't seem to be a problem. I also saw a lady carrying around a mcd's bag eating fries out of it in line so somehow she brought it in.

I'm going to bring my own drinks. When I buy my meals (obviously not at sit down place because its tacky!), ill ask for glasses if ice. Ill dump the drinks in them and presto cold cheap drinks!

I've not had problems taking snacks and drinks in DLR before. The only major limitations are no alcoholic beverages or glass containers (except baby food). (Along those lines, no huge coolers either, but you probably won't need something that big for snacks. :))

I literally tried following DL's published standard that there are no coolers larger than can fit a six-pack. Ours was a tiny soft-sided one without a hard-plastic interior liner. I was hoping to use a small Blue Ice freeze pack, but our hotel room's refrigerator had no freezer section. It still stayed cool for about half a day as long as there were a couple of cans/bottles in there. We kept stuff on ice (slightly watery which helps cool faster) in a somewhat larger cooler before transferring to the small cooler before leaving our car.

I did see someone with what looked like a 9 quart Igloo cooler like I kept in my car. At least one can still bring a hard-sided cooler into Disneyland, unlike the requirements at many sporting events for only soft-sided coolers.

I keep meaning to call the Park Vue Inn and ask them if their fridges have little freezers. I just bought an insulated tote. We'll have an ice chest in our room so I could ice down waters the night before. I'm seriously going to try and find the Gatorade packs. It'll be better. I've seen the Mio with energy. Normally I don't like that one because it makes me jittery, but I may need it. ;) I'm going to look for the electrolite one though. I hope we all don't melt! We are introducing DLR to some friends from Montana. I doubt it ever gets truly hot in Montana! HaHa! Hopefully we don't have another heatwave.

Did they change their policy or just don't enforce it? I found this on their site:

Can I bring food into Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park?
If you wish to bring your own food and enjoy an outdoor meal in an ideal setting, there is a complimentary Picnic Area conveniently located outside the Main Entrance to Disneyland Park.
With the exception of food items for Guests with specific dietary restrictions, food or beverage items are not permitted into either of the Disneyland Resort theme parks.

I bring one Pepsi per day w/no issues. When we eat at White Water snacks (love them!) I get a cup of ice w/ my meal.....and enjoy my Pepsi. (I hate Coke!) This may not work at other food places at Disney....but WWS is pretty quite :)

The DW has major food allergies so we typically bring in everything from drinks to condiments into the parks with us and have never had a single issue nor comment.

I hope they don't start enforcing their rule of not bringing-in outside food or drink like they did with the FastPass return times.

Park Vue's refrigerators do have freezer compartments. But, I could never get a water bottle to freeze solid, they'd just get slushy.
