Snacking before Late Dinner?

Cheese and cracker tray, or a sandwich/soup from room service or something from the fast food place...they tend to have some great fresh fruit and they also have Panini sandwishes and salads and of course there is always the Mickey Bar from room service!!!

There is a room service menu in the hardcover book on the desk.

We would order a fruit and cheese tray and eat that in our room before the show. We brought wine with us onboard and had that with it, so it was a perfect "snack."

Can you order the cheese tray early in the day for delivery at a certain time?

Hey Jess,
You can pretty much get food any time, so yes you can order early. There are also lots of food options around the pool, including pizza, burgers and fries, wraps, and ice cream. Many of these stop during dinner hours, but we usually get something around 5 pm and that holds our boys over until late diner.

At the shows, you can by snacks as well and they are pretty reasonably priced (like $2.50 for a bag of popcorn).

Being that we're from Arizona, the late dinner is the best time for us. We are going next (late) Spring to the Bahamas and welcome the late dinner. It happens to be about 5 PM Mountain Standard Time, so this makes a HUGE difference. Otherwise, we would be having dinner at 2 PM 'our' time.

Also, if we are on an excursion or visiting (one of) the island(s), we don't have to rush back early to shower and be ready for dinner. This way, we can take our time getting back to the ship.

We realize that there is always some form of food available on the ship at any given time, but there is just something about going to the dining room that is SO special and unique. ::yes::

I know that if the dinner you chose does not work for you, the CM will try to accomodate a change in the time. However, there are no guarantees.

I'm wondering if people generally snack in the late afternoon if they have the 8:15 dinner seating. 8:15 does seem pretty late, so what are the snack options between lunch and late dinner? Or are you so busy changing into dinner clothes and going to the show that there's no time for a bite? I know my DS can handle the late dinner, but I know he'll need some kind of munchies in there to tide him over. Just trying to see what everyone esle does!

We had instituted "chicken tenders o'clock" for our last cruise. We'd grab a serving a chicken tenders and fries for my 2DDs and I to share to tide us over. Once the pretzels appeared, we would grab them on the way to the show to snack on as well.

Room service steak sandwich on the veranda is a great mid-afternoon snack!

We found a 430 snack was imperative to ward off our crabiness :headache:. We went to Flos on the pool deck and then got icecream and ate it on the way to the show.

About how long does it take to have food delivered from room service? Is it fairly quick or does it slow down a bit at certain times? (like about 4pm when everyone is ordering their late afternoon snacks?!)

Would be nice to know how to plan for the next time!

Thanks.
