I'm a Disney vet and total foodie. There's not a ton that I haven't tried at Disney, but with the growing amount of places and selections, I'm starting to realize the things I've never tried.
I love EPCOT and love drinking and eating around the world. For the first time this year, we'll be staying at Beach Club. My sister and I stayed at the Dolphin last year for F&W. We loved the close proximity and it was a major selling point in pushing our parents to do the Beach Club.
Okay - so we're staying within a 5-10 minute walk of EPCOT with a park hopper. This means I can simply run to EPCOT and grab a snack if I'm in the mood. I think I can tackle a snack in every country during my 8-day stay. We even dedicate a day to snacking, when I can make some real damage.
So here goes: my challenge is to try something new in every country. Feel free to make recommendations or correct things. I'm sure some things will be added, as we're traveling during Christmas (when they do the Holidays Around the World.)
Refreshment Port: Croissant donut a la mode. I've had a regular croissant donut, but never had it a la mode. I love ice cream, so this should be a real treat!
Canada: One of the weaker countries, I usually skip this one. But, in the interest of trying things I'm grabbing a maple candy from the store. They did have a pecan maple bark last year. If it returns, I'll be going with that.
UK Pavilion: House-made salt and vinegar chips with a beer. I'm doing R&C later in the trip, so I'll skip the fish and chips. I'm a big sweets person, so I'll stick to something salty this time around.
France: I tried the hazelnut beignet last year, as well as the macaron. I've also had the pressed ice cream sandwich and a cone with the seasonal flavor. I'll be eating more ice cream than I can handle between Beaches and Cream and Ample Hills, so I'm going for the Frangipane Triangle. Definitely outside the box for me, so I'd be open to other recommendations.
Morocco: We usually skip right past Morocco. This time I'm stopping by for one of those famous coffees or baklava.. or both.
Japan: Kakigori. Never even knew this existed (at Disney).
American Adventure: I'm finally doing the funnel cake a la mode. Never had a funnel cake at Disney and the a la mode version looks unreal! May have to share it, though...
Italy: We're trying pizza at Via Napoli for the first time. I'll probably share the tiramisu with my mom.
Germany: Something caramel from Karamel Kuche. I had the cookie last year - maybe the brownie this year?
China: I've had the happy face cakes (seasonal). I always get the Tipsy Duck in Love... I guess I'll grab an egg roll or pork bun.
Norway: Totally getting the troll horn. Never had it. I've had school bread and didn't care for it. May have to get a cinnamon loaf for breakfast, too!
Mexico: We always get nachos. I think I'm grabbing a churro this time around.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
