One of the best tips that I ever received from this board was to ship a box full of snacks to your Hotel so that it is waiting for you when you arrive. You can take them in a fanny pack to the park or have a late night snack in your Hotel room.

I did this a couple of years ago and it worked out great. Make sure that you address to the name that's on your ressie and that you put your confirmation number on the label as well. Also, print your name and confirmation number on all 4 sides of the box, since it will be stacked among other packages and this will help the staff locate your box more easily.

I always put "HOLD FOR ARRIVAL" and then put the date on the outside of the package.

I guess I am surprised at how many people ship food, but then I realized that many people do not use rental cars while on Disney property (thus limiting their access to grocery stores). Given the cost of shipping, it seemed odd to me to pay for shipping when snacks are fairly easy to come by (or pack in your luggage). We actually ate very few of the snacks we bought at the grocery store - we bought cereal at Publix and got our milk at the SOG gift shop, but didn't eat many of the snacks we bought.

Last time I went (last October), we used a town car service, which stopped at Publix for us. Because we had four in our party, it was actually less expensive per person than the Mears shuttle, and we didn't have to stop at everyone else's resort along the way! Definitely recommend the town car services!

What we have done is pack a suitcase full of snacks that we check and regardless of whether we eat them (yeah right) or leave them, we then have an empty suitcase to fill up with souvenirs on the way home.

We brought snacks and breakfast foods in our luggage. Our strategy was the kids ate Pop Tarts or small donuts on the bus and we ate a late breakfast or early lunch. This helped out alot. Our eating times (10:30 - 11:00 am) are not the normal times. Our kids ate a snack when we came back to the hotel for a mid-day break. The foods did well in our luggage when we flew. Plus, more room for things you buy!!!!

is it really worth the shipping cost? How so?

I can ship a decent sized box for about $6.00. Considering how much you pay for snacks at the park, it is well worth it. I'll pack some muffins for a cheap breakfast one morning. Also it is great to come back from the parks and have one of you favorite snacks waiting for you. In the long run, I think it saves alot of money.
And more importantly, when you have some kids getting crabby in line because they are hungy, they can reach in their fanny pack and get a snack. It helps keep everyone sane....
