Snack Credits at Monorail Resorts

I tried to find this and couldn't; I apologize if I am repeating a recent topic.

We are planning to get the Deluxe Dining Plan for our January 2012 trip. We have had Deluxe before and used the snack credits for b-fast a few mornings, and for lunch and snacks other times.

I am trying to remember what are considered snacks for b-fast and lunch at the various counter service places on the monorail. We are staying at BLT, so I would be most interested in snack credits at the Contempo Cafe.

All I remember is that we were able to get juice and milk and 'other things'

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but a snack credit can be used for anything under $4 including tax. I'm sure there are some exceptions but this is what I was told by several different CMs on my May/June trip when I used the dining plan for the first time. But I don't think milk is included now...

The items which are snacks credits have a Disney Dining Plan symbol and says Snack Credit.

For breakfast, you can use a snack credit to order a "side" of scrambled eggs, or bacon, or sausage at both Contempo Cafe and Captain's Cook. Each of those is $2 and counts as a snack. Some shun the use of the snack credit for a $2 item, but we did this a few times to add protein to the other snack options (fruit salad - $4, pastries - around $3) and since we had so many snack credits (2 adults, 2 kids, 8 nights = 64 snack credits), we were happy to use them this way.

Best snack credit at monorail resort are the huge cupcakes at contempo Cafe(dulce de leche and red velvet, I think when we were there)..HUGE!!!! not exactly breakfast food, but great!
