I think this would be a great idea for our next trip. What is your favorite snack from each country? Do you start at Mexico or Canada? Are there any snacks to avoid?

The only time I've done this was during F&W, so most everything wasn't at Epcot normally.

My favorite "snack" item in the WS is the Bavarian Cheesecake at Sommerfest in Germany. They have it on the buffet at the Biergarten, and I fell in love with it.

I've also had a funnel cake from the stand near the American Pavillion.
I did have a difficult time eating the Cloudberry Horn in Norway. It has a really hard crust.

We start at Mexico.

While I haven't ate at all of these snacks, I have heard rave reviews:
Mexico: Conga Fruit Drink at La Cantina de San Angel
Norway: school bread
Germany: soft pretzel
Italy: Bellini
U.S.A.: -
Japan: Kaki Gori
Morocco: iced mint tea/hummus and pita bread
France: baguette
U.K.: FRIES
Canada: -

We often think about doing this but never quite suceed and end up drinking our way around the world :rolleyes1

:wizard: We don't do it in any particular order, but we get:

Frozen margarita's from Mexico
Egg Rolls from China
Kaki gori from Japan
Cloudberry horns from Norway
Crepes from France
Popcorn from the USA
Chocolates from Italy

This year we will add some type of caramel treat from Germany....

I HAVE to have a cinnamon & sugar coated warm pretzel (usually for breakfast-bad, I know) from the cart outside of Honey I Shrunk the Audience.

In World Showcase, I love caramel-dipped apples from Werther's in Germany, followed by "Chips" from the Fish House in the UK.

I wish you hadn't asked this question. Now I'll be thinking about these all day.

Great suggestions! We are going to do this in August. We have a late dinner at R&C, so we can spend the day snacking at each country instead of having a regular lunch.

We loved snacking around the world, I think we got something in every country.

Mexico - DH and I shared nachos from La Cantina, they were very good.

Norway - We loved the Cloudberry Horns, we also tried the fresh made waffles with strawberry preserves...very good.

China - We skipped China, nothing sounded good

Germany - We got something at the Caramel shop 3 different times, so yummy. DH also enjoyed splitting a Bratwurst at Sommerfest, the roll it's served on is great.

Italy - Again, skipped.

USA - The American Dream and a funnel cake. The American Dream is strawberry slush on the bottom, vanilla ice cream and blueberry slush on the top. Very good, loved the creaminess with the vanilla ice cream. The kids asked for these all week!

Japan - Kaki Gori I think the rainbow is the best so you get all of the flavors. Very refreshing on a hot day.

Morocco - DH and I split a shwarma platter. Definitely enough for a meal though, very good.

France - Wow, what didn't we eat here. Anything from the pastry shop, we tried the creme brulee, napoleon, strawberry tart, cream puff, eclair and I think one other thing. It was all fantastic.
The Crepe cart, the sugar one was my fav but we got a chocolate too.
The Grey Goose lemon slush, not too strong but so good. I had 4 throughout my trip, so nice on a hot day.

England - My mom and I split some Fish and Chips from the little shop, very good.

We start at Mexico every trip, don't know why we just do. We always make a point of getting guacamole and nachos at La Cantina de San Angel and the Soft Pretzels in Germany. Based on some suggestions here, may try some new items this time.

Start at Mexico: frozen margarita and chips
Norway: Viking coffee and pretzel pastry thing
China: Cantaloupi (vodka drink in kiosk), when kids are with us we get egg rolls
Germany: never gotten a snack here, but have eaten at main restaurant
Italy: gelato
U.S.A.: jalapeno stuffed pretzel
Japan: sushi
Morocco: schmarma platter
France: Grand Marnier slush
U.K.: fish and chips
Canada: nothing, kids usually walk back around to Mexico for churros

My, lots of food! It usually is a 1/2 day event--we do Kim Possible when the kids are with us.

Have fun

We often think about doing this but never quite suceed and end up drinking our way around the world :rolleyes1

:lmao: We do this too. But, we love the pretzel in Germany (with Beer), the nachos in Mexico (with a Margarita), lots at the Norway bakery looked delicious, and the same with the Pastries and savory treats in France (with wine..or a GM slushie. Have fun...we just leisurely walked around the world and tasted whatever looked appealing. It was actually the highlight of our trip. We loved it sooo much, I insisted on planning an Oct trip for the F&W Festival. Have a wonderful vacation, OP!

Nachos & Margarita in Mexico

Egg Rolls in China

Gonna have to try some of those pastries in France.

Where do you get the gelato in Italy? We have looked all around Italy every time and never find anywhere to get snacks. I keep saying, "they should have gelato!" LOL. And here to find out they actually do! How in the world are we missing it?

Carmel popcorn in Germany and Grey Goose Lemon Slush in France are both must do's for us!!! :worship:
My son also loved the American Dream in USA.

We seem to always start with brunch in France. Everything is good there: crepes from the stand, wine, and everything at La Patisserie - quiche, croissant sandwiches, eclairs, napoleons, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, I could go on...

Morocco: I like the mint iced tea, and we sometimes share a platter. The hummus is good.

Japan: Kaki Gori of course. The kids also love sushi, and I actually like the ginger cake, even though I wouldn't have thought so.

U.S.: The only time we got snacks here was gingerbread cookies at Christmas.

Italy: I've never been able to find anything to snack here. I'd get gelato if I could ever find it! Or pizza if the window was ever open when we're there.

Germany: Pretzels and Apfel Strudel with Vanilla Sauce are my favorites. The guys love bratwurst. We haven't ever tried the caramel stuff, but it all sure looked good. We usually buy some candy here too - we love kinder shokolade, Ritter Sport, etc. and we also love to do a wine flight - love a good spatlese!

China: egg rolls

Norway: Anything from Kringla Bakerie is good. We all love School Bread, though Rice Cream is my favorite.

Mexico: I'm so bummed. I don't like the Cantina anymore. It used to be my absolute favorite CS. I loved the platter that came with rice and beans, and the Conga Fruit Juice was my favorite drink - I had to have it everytime we passed by there! Now the selections are dumbed down - no rice, no beans, not even any real cheese on anything, the chips are hard as rocks with no salt, the tacos are dinky little boring things with nothing, literally nothing but meat on them, the guacamole is icky, the nachos are like bad American movie theater ones with fake cheese sauce, and worst of all they've taken away my Conga Juice! I do have to say I did rather enjoy the coconut popsicle I had there, though.

Canada: Not really any snacks to be had there... unless you count the smoothie things at that cart near it. I've had a pretty good iced coffee frappuccino thing from that cart. I think they should have Poutine! (Or if they really wanted to make lots of folks happy they could have a window where they dispense cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread and chocolate mooses!)

England: Fish & Chips - yum!

Mexico--frozen margarita or churro
Norway--school bread, veiled maiden, chocolate cake
Germany--oatmeal caramel cookie or chocolate covered caramel cashew cluster
China--egg rolls, curry chicken pocket, strawberry red bean ice cream
Italy--Bellini or gelato from the cart
USA--funnel cake
Japan--Kaki Gori
Morroco--baklava
France--crepe, Napoleon, apple tart, pralineige, cheese plate, Grey Goose slushie
UK--fish and chips
Canada--? do they even have anything? is the Refreshment Port considered part of Canada?

I would recommend starting on the Mexico side. We didn't see anything at Canada. The line at UK for fish & chips was very long. We got to France and wanted everything we saw. After we each got a dessert there we were too full to eat anything until we shopped & strolled all the way to Mexico where we ate supper!
