I am going to be at WDW May 1st-8th...I was wondering if snacks (fruit roll ups and fruit snacks, etc....) are allowed in the parks. I have read the books and have no clear answers on if they are. Can anyone help??

Thank guys!

oh my yes. you can pack just about anything but glass (perhaps aluminum cans are a no-no too, i am not sure) in your backpack for snacks (or even lunch) and be just fine.

they say no outside food is permitted in the parks, but i have never seen that enforced.

We always bring along goldfish, individual snack packs of cookies, frut snacks and such. Heck, we have been known to bring in sleeves of saltines and a can of spray cheese, uncrustable
PB&J sammies and turkey wraps. All of this went thru the security check with nothing said. Of course this was all in our backpacks. But i have seen some folks bring food or baby needs thru in a small soft sided cooler. They are pretty OK with reasonable things such as this.

I wouldn't try to go trucking thru the gates with a whole ham, bucket of KFC, and a full watermellon for your own personal pick-nic, but light snack/lunch stuff will not be an issue.

the one time we tried to bring in Snapple in glass jars though, we were stopped, informed about the no glass thing and given the opertunity to stand off to the side and pour our Snapple from the glass jars to our then empty refillable mugs.

took snack type food for 2 (trail mix sort of) and never had a problem. Helped out greatly while in long lines.

Once we tried to bring suckling pig, chicken a'la king and peking duck, we were stopped and the security asked for a taste test. :p

thank you for the quick response Lori....I was told be a family member that went in Sept. that they were stopped for bringin fruit into the Magic Kingdom. That made me wonder....And in bringing snacks, it will help in reducing cost on food there as well.

Thanks again.

I think what they mean by no outside food is anything fast food like, pizzas, etc. I've never actually seen anyone try to bring that stuff in anyways.

Aluminum cans are fine, too. We bring our own cokes and just get the free cups of ice. I also mix Kool-Aid in our own water bottles. Again, we get free cups of ice and use our own drinks. While I would like to be able to just buy all our snacks and drinks in the parks, I just can't afford it. My backpack has a separate zip compartment and I put fruity snacks, crackers, and cookies in there. (We do splurge and get one snack a day in the park to share.)

My husband and I chaperoned our son's class trip in 2002 and we brought lunch in for the whole class every day without a problem. We were bringing in about 40 sandwhiches every day and nobody said anything::MickeyMo

I think as long as you dont bring a big rolling cooler full of enough food for a feast it will be fine. I brought gatorade and some small snacks and it was fine..just like everyone else has said

Hi
I just got back from DW and there was no problem with snacks and drinks going into the park. They looked into my backpack and they were on the top and it was no problem.

So sad we're back.....
