Found a GREAT rate for a holiday period into SNA Santa Ana. Is this a good choice(or for the price is this an acceptable choice!) for visiting DL and Newport Beach? Before I hit Buy I want to make sure i'm flying into the general vicinity!
John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA) is far and away the best airport for Disneyland and Newport Beach. To Disneyland, it's the closest airport with scheduled service. The city limits of Newport Beach are literally across the street from the airport.
Orange County Airport has an exceptionally pleasant terminal. Not too big. Not too small. Lots of glass and marble, and plenty of space. The major rental car companies are in the parking structure, so you don't need to wait for a shuttle bus.
Buy, buy, buy! Perfect airport for DL and Orange County. It's much nicer than flying into LAX. I was just at the airport yesterday dropping off DH. I hate airports in general, but it was so pleasant yesterday. And that was in the height of commute time.
When are you going and what airline are you flying? We are staying in Newport Beach and flying out in September and are looking for good prices. SNA sounds like the best airport to fly into. Thanks.
We are staying at the Marriott Villas in Newport also. We will be there the last week of September. We are flying out of St. Louis so those prices look pretty good. We usually fly SW but I don't think they fly to SNA. But we may have to change our airline for the convenience of the airport. Thanks for the info.
My3kids- The Villas do look great. We have not stayed at this particular site but my husband and I stayed at the Marriott villas in Palm Beach, Fl. last year and they were really nice. The pools were great and the pool bar and grill was a place we frequented often. It sounds like the villas at Newport have very similar amenities. I checked it out on Google earth and the image isn't very current but it gives you an idea of the layout. I did find a more current image but I don't remember what site it was on. As far as your flight-SW will give you the new cheaper price and give you a credit for the difference. Will AA not do the same thing for you?
Horace Horsecollar- Thanks for the link to the article. Interesting reading. Also thanks for the info on flights. I am waiting for SW to come out with their new flight schedule and then I will be watching the prices more closely.
