I started a trial with smug mug yesterday and have found that I can't post photos on this board. I get a message that a moderator has to approve the post. Any thoughts on this? Is it because it is only a trial. I really, really like the site but don't want to pay if it is not going to work. Thanks!

It's not a smugmug problem as per above, that should be your dog. :)

one thing I notice right off the bat is your url is judy14.smugmug.com not with the slash as you posted.

just highlight the picture in your smugmug, then click share and get a link.

then post here as follows

For what it's worth---SmugMug is a great company, I think you'll find a lot of people here on the boards that really like them. Yes, you pay for their service, but it's not very much in the grand scheme of things and you get A. full-sized image sharing (whereas other sharing sites compress your photos), B. GREAT customer service and C. really nice prints if you order through them.

Also--you can use a coupon code from another SmugMug user (like mine which is GJWRDoOlV0fr6) to get $5 off of your dues for the year, or you can use other codes like "YAHOO" which I believe is the one I used when I started with SmugMug---not sure if it's still valid.

Good luck and hopefully you decide to go with them, if not, there are lots of others that seem really happy with Zenfolio and Pbase. Although I can't speak of their customer service, I can say that Zenfolio's lab is Mpix.com and they are a GREAT site to get your shots printed from. :thumbsup2

Smugmug just added another choice for your pictures as well. You have a choice of ezprints or bayphoto. The latter is a bit more expensive, but great quality.

I still can't post photos in the picture of the day threads but.....

I found that on the test board if I reply and then edit the post I can add a picture.

I also found that my husband can post photos using his account without getting the moderator message.

It must be related to the board upgrades and possible my low post count.

There was one other member posting in the support area that also has a post count in the 20's who is getting the moderator must review message.

Don't know if this coupon code is still valid but it is 50% off first year.

YaHoO

I used it earlier this year and it worked.

Dont forget to get your free Smugmug camera strap. Nice strap for free.

Maybe you should leave a message for a moderator or PM one of them. The old rule was 10 posts minimum to post photos. I just started w/ smugmug and I was able to post even when on the trial period. Must be a Dis issue...Good luck!

Thanks! I give it a try

Will PM a moderator. I've run across a couple of others that have the same problem. Must be a low post count thing. I guess I should post and reply here more, huh? :lol

I was wondering - can you use Smugmug to host photos for ebay auctions as well? I was considering an online photo album, but also needed to host some ebay pix as well and wondered if it could do that as well.
