Smucker's premade "Uncrustables" sandwiches

Are we really arguing over how Long it takes to make a sandwich? Unless your kitchen is as big as the one in Disney, it takes less then a minute. And ftr, uncruatables are gross.

And for the record my PBjs ARE healthieras we do only use self made jam.

Which is actually funny. For my DH jamming has become his - I am retired and have time to pick fresh strawberries and raspberries whatever berries grow in summer and make jam. My favo is sour cherry from our own tree. It has become his obsession. Believe me grape jelly is nasty after trying his stuff. But. Let’s save this topic for a different thread lol!

Though I kinda want a Crustable now.

Why would they have cheese in them? they are PBJ sandwiches. The product isn't available in Canada.

When introduced all they had were the cheese ones. I guess they had added other kinds and discontinued the cheese one. My kids are 28 and 32 now, so been years since I bought them.

M&M Meat Shops had a grilled cheese version that I absolutely loved for a while. I'd take it as a work lunch with the Campbell's Tomato soup cup things... yum! I was so bummed when they stopped making them!

I have bought them before, but we always forget they're there. We do make a fair amount of PBJ, to this day.

I am craving one now though, too.

I remember having them at Disney somehow (were they part of the kids' meal?), but generally we buy a loaf of bread and a jar of PBJ mix (which, IMO, doesn't have enough jelly!) and make sandwiches ourselves at Disney.

I wouldn't fault anyone for buying them, though, they are a convenience just like many other things

I buy Uncrustables every once in a blue moon for lunch. Even though I love peanut butter I never have it in the house, this way is just easier. I really like the strawberry on whole wheat ones but those are super hard to find around here. I think only Target has that type here (when they have them in stock).

When DD was little even up through high school, I kept a box in the freezer... she would throw them in her insulated lunch bag, with water & can of coke and grapes, crackers, a Ziploc full of cereal to munch on ...she or I made the bag at night, so she could grab it, throw it in the back pack, and she was good to go...

I agree the ones sold at the Costco, Sam's and BJ's are bigger than in the ones you buy in the regular grocery store...

Anyone tried them? We saw something that said PB&J sandwiches at our local Six Flags park. We could use our dining plan credit on it, and thought maybe our kid might try it. Not much of a PB&J fan, and our kid didn't particularly like it because we've never really made any before. I didn't look too carefully at first and I thought that it looked like an empanada or a Jamaican style meat patty. Maybe like a large ravioli made with white bread.

Still - seems pretty interesting. I'm not sure how prevalent peanut butter is for school lunches given how many kids have peanut allergies. My kid isn't in a nut free classroom now, but was in the past. They don't seem to have any version that doesn't have peanuts or hazelnuts.

These are a school lunch staple in my house, but we try to buy the low sugar version when we find it. My very picky 4 year old will eat these, so we buy them. My DH and I work full time and mornings are hectic, so these work for easy lunch packing. They are also easy to pack on the fly if we are spending a weekend day out and don't want to spend the money on fast food for lunch.

Just out of curiousity, does the “low sugar” version just have less sugar or do they compensate by adding sweetness or sugar alcohols?

My biggest pet peeve is that low sugar never means less sweet lol. They always just replace the sugar with sorbitol or sucralose or stevia (the worst) rather than just letting something be less sweet.

Try “Smucker’s Low Sugar.” No artificial sweeteners and yes, less sweet.

edit: Ha, if the Uncrustables are Smucker’s and billed as low sugar the above should apply.
