Are the s'mores at 50's Prime Time Cafe pre-made in the kitchen or are they made at the table? Were they yummy? I've eaten lunch there, but we didn't order dessert. Thanks!

They make them for you before they get to the table. Don't waste your time getting excited. They get worse every time we have them. We had them last week and may not order them again. Portion is small and quality is only OK.

They make them in the kitchen... they're kindof like a big plate of "open faced" s'mores.
I prefer making them at home though! :)

Thanks for the info! I was hoping to get those when we go see the Osborn Festival of Lights b/c DH really wants s'mores while we're in WDW. It looks like we might be making a trip to Fort Wilderness instead.

they make them in the back but i thought they were so yummy! I can't wait for our trip to go back and get one again! I'm not a big s'mores eater but i thought they were really good.

We also had them last week (made in the kitchen) and they were delicious! My 10 year old daughter and I shared one order and it was just enough.

Here's a pic of the Smores we had in 2006. I thought it was about half the size of the serving we received in 2001, but still plenty for one person. I really did enjoy it and I think any true Smores fan would as well.

I've had them once and while they were good, they were waaaaay too sweet and chocolately for me, I couldn't finish them. I think they're a fun dessert though, and I always like seeing something unique on the dessert menus like s'mores.:thumbsup2

these were the s'mores I got last Nov and they were awesome! They were sweet but still good. I don't think I finished them, there was so much.

We thought they were great!! We tried them because I heard so many great things from here about them. (Of course, there are always some that don't seem to like things as much as the rest of us... which makes me wonder, am I too easy to please or they too critical? lol maybe neither - not everyone's gonna like the same things!) BUt i say ... give it a try if you want some smores. They are premade but if you can find somewhere to make them yourselves, that sounds more fun though. :)

Yummy! Thanks for all of the pics and reviews. They do look good!

I've had my fair share of s'mores on a coat hanger (the crispy burnt part is my fave) & I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to that kind of stuff. I'm going to try to talk DH into getting dinner, s'mores, & drinks at 50's Cafe that night. Otherwise, I may have to miss Osborn Family of Lights, but I really want to see it for the 1st (and maybe only) time. Thanks a lot!

When I went in October I noticed the dessert menu at 50's has changed somewhat, they replaced a couple things I believe.

Wow, I had them for my first time last year & I thought they were delicious!! :cloud9: DF & I shared them after our meals (which we thought were huge) & we thought they were enough to split. I think if we were going there just for dessert though, we might each get our own.

We plan to get these again next time!!

I simply suspect that many simply lack the appropriate frame of reference and life experience to even judge whether these s'mores are good or a good dessert. I will grant that it is a "clever" dessert as served. However, as s'mores go, these barely rise to the level of being "OK". The flavor mix is misplaced, and the quantity served is very small (even though they are fairly rich). We have eaten this dessert at 50's five different times. We have eaten this dessert elsewhere, including on our own, probably 150 times, so I think I'm qualified to comment that these stink. Since I do like s'mores, it's not a matter of "not liking the same things". I just find it hard to praise a restaurant that screws up a dessert that most 11 or 12 year old Girl Scouts can make in their sleep and make taste better than they do.

Had the smores in Sept and as others have said, they were barely "ok". I only had a few bites and was disappointed, the marshmallows were fine, but didn't like the chocolate, seemed very fake. Wished I had gotten "dad's brownie sundae" that the kids got, that looked awesome! (BTW, rest of the food was very good)

I got them in September and thought they were great. I contemplated getting them again a few weeks ago but went with the angel cake instead. That was okay, but the smores were definitely better!

Again, everything is relative to opinion. Everyone’s comment on here is their own personal opinion and everyone’s opinion differs based upon their individual taste. Some people like them and find them to be good. Some people don’t like them and find them to be “ok”. Both opinions are fine – there is no wrong opinion on an issue such as this.

OP, if you want to try them, I say get them. If you don’t like them than you’d know on your next visit to try something else. Besides, if you take a bite (and I do mean “a” bite) and find it to be disgusting, most restaurants don’t have a problem swapping it out for something else. Back in my waiting tables days I had a family order a desert, eat ¾ of it and then complain to me that it was horrible and wanted the item removed from the bill. That was a ‘uhh.. no’ situation. If it was that horrible you shouldn’t have eaten almost the entire dessert and then complained.

I plan to eat at 50’s in a few weeks and plan to try the s’mores for my first try. They do look good in the pictures.

Can someone please explain how these are "bad" to some people? Is it the taste? Do they not use milk chocolate or graham crackers? Are their marshmallows made with something weird? I mean, I know they aren't homemade on a crackling fire in the backyard, but, if they're using the same basic ingredients, shouldn't it be very similar? I'm just confused I guess as to how they can be BAD, rather than "just ok" (which is what I would expect given the relative simplicity of s'mores).
