The one outside of the Brown Derby is gone now. It was great because my wife could use the restroom while I took my five minutes. Both that and the area in France (if I'm thinking of the same one, near the canal) were ideal, out of the way of people yet close enough to people watch or hear a show.

at least in the American parks, CM's enforce the no smoking rule. In Disneyland Paris, the CM'S dont. It is very common to see people smoking in the ride and attraction lines and during parades etc. There is a very different attitude to smoking in France and central Europe compared to America. If you say to someone to stop smoking in the line, that other than the designated smoking areas, the parks are no smoking you will be glared at and ignored.

I have no problem with people smoking in designated smoking areas, but like so many others the total lack of any enforcement in DLP just really peeees me off

I can see where that would annoy you, and I can also say that the smokers should be "GOOD smokers" and courteous of others, like the other poster and I were all talking about, and follow the rules. It was being "impolite and BAD/RUDE smokers" (smoking in lines, around little kids, etc.) that caused Disney to have make "smoking areas" in the first places. As with most things in life - those that are arrogant, entitled, or flaunt THEIR wants and needs over courtesy for their fellow human beings ruin it all for other considerate people in life - like the saying "some bad apples........"

As I've said before, I am a former smoker, but still "remember the days" and still think they should have easy to find areas. I am also a current pedestrian, and the "bad pedestrians" walk boldly in front of cars whenever they feel like (at night, not in crosswalks, etc.) and I hear all the time "people should be good pedestrians". I try to be, just as I was a "good smoker".

unfortunately not going to happen in Disneyland Paris. The management dont care, so the on the ground CM's dont care and the guests have this attitude, its outdoor so I will smoke when and where I want. I have even seen reports of children being burned by cigarettes while in line and CM's not doing anything about it. There are over 10 designated smoking areas in the main park, which to give you some perspective is smaller than the main park in California

In the USA parks 98% of smokers will ***** and moan about being herded into the little smoking areas, but we follow the rules. We do still have the *****s that ignore the rules, but for the most part Disney guests tend to be 'good smokers'. I just wanted to make two things clear:
1. To all smokers, if you want to continue to enjoy a cancer stick in any of the parks or resorts, we must follow the rules. Otherwise they will take away this perk completely.
2. To all non-smokers, stay out of the smoking areas. This is our last refuge in The World. I don't go into the family station and complain about people breast feeding their baby, don't go sit on a bench in the designated smoking area and complain about the smell.
As long as we all follow these simple rules we can coexist peacefully.
