Does anyone know if there are standard view rooms set aside as smoking rooms at BWV? I would be needing a 2 bedroom for a family.

AFAIK, there are still a few SV rooms designated as "smoking optional", but most are non-smoking. The smoking optional rooms will be on the 2nd floor (lobby level) unless that has recently changed. Not all the 2nd floor rooms are smoking optional, though.

AFAIK, the CMs still tell smokers it is OK to smoke on the balconies of the non-smoking rooms if anyone asks them or complains about not getting a smoking room.

Best wishes -

Thanks, I'm not even sure that the family in mind still smokes. I just want to be sure when I ask if they are interested in coming with us I want to be able to offer them something that exists.

Not everyone who is 80 is able or wants to go to WDW, but my Daunt will be celebrating that milestone next October!

We just got back from a BWV stay in a std view 1BR that was "smoking optional", room 2135. It was the last room down the hall, facing the tennis courts/pkg lot. Our kids actually loved running the hallways at the end of the day.

We requested non-smoking, but none were available when we checked in at 4pm on Sunday 9/18. Every check-in since we've been members (4 stays so far) has been something of an adventure (smoke in a non-smoking room; given a room that hadn't been cleaned yet; a std view non-HA requested, getting a pfd view, HA room).

As I typically do, I ran down to the room before the family to check its condition and found it to be quite clean -- actually looked to me like it had been recently refurbished. No discernable scent of smoke and the carpets, walls and drapes smelled great. Almost looked like a fresh coat of paint had been put down.

Most of the units down this end of the hall were smoking-optional. They were also delivering new matresses to the units while we were there....

Thank you TimmyP. I described my check in surprise in my recent thread, the guard didn't have my name on the guest list. We have checked into a 2 bedroom once, and only the studio part was cleaned at the time we got the key. We just kept calling and I think it was way past 4 that the 1 bedroom part was finally done.

I hope your next stay at BWV is perfect in every way.
