Smoking/Non-smoking bedrooms?

Are all bedrooms on-site non-smoking? Someone mentioned they asked for a non-smoking room, which has panicked me a bit as I just assumed they all were. There is no way I could possibly stay in a room that has pretty much ever been smoked in, I am so OCD about it, and it makes me feel physically sick! (I have always been the same - ridiculous probably but I can't help it!)

Do I need to email and ask for a non-smoking room? Will they already have allocated rooms by now? We go 2 weeks on Friday!

Think it's about 4 days before when they assign rooms so I would email around that time.

Hope you get one - I too would hate to be in a room that has had smokers in it

I was wondering this too - don't want my little one sleeping in a smoking room!

Does anyone know the email address you use? Tried to find one on my confirmation letter as I read somewhere there would be one but couldn't find it. Staying in Hotel Cheyenne. Obv can phone but more hassle.

Gosh, I never even thought of this, with the smoking ban here now, these things seem to have slipped my mind!
I'm in an adapted room at the Sequoia so I guess I can't be moved no matter what, I hope its non smoking as I have two asthmatic children

I thought they were non smoking now If I have stayed in a smoking room then I wouldn't have know. My mum, cousin & a couple of friends all smoke but always went outside they wouldn't dream of smoking in the rooms.

I'm going from the numbers ^^ I don't know for sure like but when you see for the DLH

The hotel’s 496 sumptuously decorated, air-conditioned rooms and 18 suites provide a particularly sophisticated level of comfort.

Followed by

There are non-smoking floors with 366 rooms available, as well as 1 room adapted for disabled use.

The pb is that even if people are not supposed to smoke in hotels they have a hard time stopping them.

We got upgraded like that in London as the room we had at check in stunk of smoke and I'm an ex smoker and couldn't sleep in it.

Thanks, I will have to email them and request a non-smoking room, I would rather sleep in the corridor than a smoking room and will not allow my toddler in a smoking room.

I'm not doubting you i'm just saying if people had smoked in the rooms it wasn't noticable & I can smell it easily, I go into enough patients homes & smell like an ashtray for the rest of shift which is gross

I've checked the (non) smoking law and a hotel room is not classed in the same way as a restaurant dining room or a café and once you have closed the hotel door is your own private space

So theoretically you can smoke in a hotel room without breaking the law and the only comeback the hotelier has is to ask you to leave

I know that Ibis still has smoking rooms in their hotels as I've seen them only a few months ago

When we stayed at the Newport Bay last August I requested a non-smoking room and this was mentioned by the lady at check-in. I can't remember exactly what she said but it made me think that there must be smoking rooms in the hotel. I would definitely request a non-smoking room.

You get used to it, it makes me laugh when the patient or relative insist on finishing their cigarette even though we carry oxygen into the house

Thanks for mentioning the smoking law, I won't let on to my cousin or mum but having said that they always respect others & smoke outside. My mum doesn't even smoke in her own home.

I Have not been on for a while. I have never been given a smoking room last year my father come with me he smokes. I phoned them and asked if they do smoking rooms. They told me all of the hotels have a small no of smoking rooms you have to request them. We stayed at the new york my room was none smoking my dads opposite had a sign on the door saying smoking room. On the corridor they was 5 rooms with smoking signs on the door. We was 4th floor brownstone. All the other rooms had no smoking on door. So guessing they would only give you a smoking room if you have requested it.
