Thats the one that gets me. It is clearly a smoking area, they sit on the benches and make rude comments at us. They will sit there waving there hand at the smoke as if I'm going to leave. If you don't like it don't sit in the smoking area
This happened to me in AK...The girls were getting their face painted near the entrance of the Safari- and I left them there with DH, to find a smoking area. I asked a CM Security guard- and he directed me to the area behind a restaurant. It was like a patio type place, forgive me for forgetting the name.
However- I was there, along with 1 other lady, just lit the smoke, and this family shows up with 3 little kids. the mom- loudly, and rudely says to the dad "well, we could rest here, IF these people didn't SMOKE ALL OVER THE PARK".. she was only about 3 feet from me, so I said- as nicely as I could "I'm sorry YOU must be mistaken, this IS a smoking area, not a rest your feet area, they're benches RIGHT OVER THERE in the shade- for general resting"..
She shot me "A LOOK" and walked away. The other lady commented on how she hears that at least 1 park a day while she's there.
I really wish they were better marked...and more plentyful. never did I smoke not in a designated area, however I agree with previous posters, some of them are few and far between, and are very poorly marked.
When you want to just duck away from the rest of the family, and quickly get a smoke in, it's hard to do so you spend 3/4 of the time looking for the nearest one!
oh and as an FYI- neither DH nor I saw anyone smoking outside of a designated area on our trip in April, and that was during the flower and garden festivites.
