Smoking at POR

I know this has been asked before but several different info sources seem to conflict. Does anyone know what buildings if any are designated smoking?? The CM today on the telphone told me there are no smoking buildings at POR, just smoking rooms. I requested building 18? Is the room going to smell like smoke?? If anyone has a scoop on POR and smoking buildings/rooms, please help me.

I've been asking the same questions. I just read that building 18 is a "smoking optional" building, magnolia terrace is a non-smoking building and oak manor is a smoking building with non-smoking rooms. You may want to check out room details on all ears net site, however, I too am looking for personal experiences and more information.

Here's some information I was able to dig up from the Port Orleans FAQ thread:

It's The Port Orleans FAQ Thread!!!

Magnolia Bend features 4 large plantation-style mansion buildings – Acadian House, Magnolia Terrace, Oak Manor and Parterre Place. Smoking is permitted in Acadian House and Oak Manor.

Alligator Bayou is the backwoods "swamp" area. It is made up of 16 separate small buildings with two stories and tin roofs. Smoking is permitted in Buildings 17, 27, 28, 34 and 36.

But... I know smoking is permitted in building 18 too. I've stayed in building 18 twice and both times smoking was permitted.

I figured since my trip is before yours, I will get the scoop for you and report back after my trip. I will be there from 1/23 to 1/27 (cant wait). I tried to call POR directly yesterday but he had no info. I figure I will get the info directly when I am down there for you.

My DW & I have stayed at the Acadian House on each of our trips. We have never requested a non-smoking room, though I don't know if we got one without knowing. But, none of the rooms have ever smelled like smoke to me.

If you check in, and your room smells like smoke, complain to the front desk. They should be more than willing to accomadate you if your room is not to your satisfaction.
