Over the past 6 months or so I've noticed there have been 3 or 4 different "public service announcements" that use classic Disney animated films as their platform to get their points across. All of them have Smokey the Bear saying his usual spiel at the end, which is usually "Only you can prevent forest fires", or something very similar and environmentally friendly.

One showed clips from The Little Mermaid and tried to tell us not to pollute the oceans. The latest one I've seen has clips from Sleeping Beauty and concludes with Smokey reminding us that "Only we can prevent wild fires".

Maybe it's just me......but the commercials have a fairly cheap feel to them, which, in my opinion, makes Disney's "masterpieces" feel less significant. It's almost as if a third party came to Disney and said, "We don't have a budget for actors or new animation, so can we buy limited rights to your long-adored movies for our PSAs?", and they allowed it. Why did Disney do this? Am I being overly-protective of the movies that I adore? :confused3
