Smokey Bones Restaurants...

They are about to open one of these in our area. I am pretty sure its an East Coast chain and was wondering about it. Any one been? How is the food?

I've been to one in Dartmouth, MA. It's very BBQey...does that make sense? They offer the usual stuff you'd find at a BBQ place. The ambiance is woodsy, with a cabin motif. They've got television sets all over the place too...I liked it (Kinda like a Texas Roadhouse feel...)

The Food, if i remember someone mentioning it to me, was good. But I personally don't remember it. You should give it a try...if you're into the big portioned, sloppy ribs, slow cooked Prime rib meals, then this place, i'm sure, is for you.

OH yeah, the one in Dartmouth had televisions all over the place (like I said) but at each booth, had speakers that you could change so if you wanted to listen to a game that was on a TV across the room, you could just switch to that channel on the speaker (same with other TV's in the restaurant)...kinda neat.

A new one just opened in Clearwater, Florida. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I love BBQ!

They got one up here and it is very successful. I remember a St Louis style of barbeque whatever that is. Definitely worth checking out.

I've been to the one in Warwick RI - it's very good. I love their BBQ sauce that they use.

One is opening right near work in Providence. I'm looking forward to it but it's going to be packed and almost impossible to get a table

The one in Orlando rocks out! It's the best BBQ I've had in a long time

LOVE IT!!!!! We have one in Orlando and one in Casselberry and they have the best food. I love their pulled pork and mashed potatoes, that all I have ever had there. And my DD swears that they have the best macoroni and cheese in the world.

I don't really eat bbq, but I love their bbq chicken! This is such a good restaurant and they have hot donuts for dessert that are great!

They are all over. They are owed by Darden Restaurants, same that owns the Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Bahama Breeze!!!

It's pretty good!

They are building one about 5 minutes from me. There's a joke that they are building it so that the "yankee" transplants in Memphis will have a place to go eat BBQ and think that it's good.

I, however, think it's frozen and tasteless and like the above poster said, slop. I prefer to go to local joints (that's the term for a proper BBQ restaurant) like Corky's, Neely's, and Interstate. I think it's what you get used to. I prefer chopped pork with thinner, spicier sauce and mayonnaise based slaw.

Then again, if there are no alternatives...No, I still wouldn't eat it. Sorry. I hope you like it, though. It's always nice to get another dining choice in your town.

They put one in here about a year ago. I think the food is overpriced and not very good. We will not go back. They must be doing something right though because the place is always packed. We do enjoy the other Darden restaurants though, I hope they put a Bahama Breeze near us soon!

We've been to the one in Wellington, FL when we visited my parents, I'm not a BBQ person either, but I tried the pulled pork and now I'm hooked! I love it...the closest one to our home is a few hours away

I ate at one here in Jacksonville and it was decent BBQ. Of course I was spoiled with Kansas City BBQ until now and SB wasn't as good as Gates or KC Masterpiece.

DH is not a big rib person, but he would definitely go back. DD13 loves Smokey Bones... it's probably her favorite!
